Over the past two decades as Pakistani media further expands and indulges in news topics that would have been deemed unsuitable and openly condemned in previous generations, a very important question comes to mind. Why is there an increasing number of child abuse, child murders, molestation, rape and killings occurring in Pakistan? Why has society stooped so low that this horrific issue has become a major problem in Pakistan and the rest of the world? Some prominent religious clerics of Pakistan are completely against the idea of teaching sex education and children's rights in schools as they feel this will sexualise society as seen in the west but as generations move on so does technology. One possible factor is the use and access of inappropriate internet sites which is destroying the minds of young men by promoting an unhealthy view of intimacy and relationships with their futore spouse. Has the time finally arrived for families such as a father to sit with his teenage son to discuss sex? What is appropriate and inappropriate behaviour towards young women/ girls? Or does Pakistan continue to live in denial of such problems facing society under the pretext of religion.

Sex education should only be taught from a religious point of view.

Not in the western way.

Teach children how to be safe. Safe sex education is not going to stop molusters.

LOL.. that is how many in Pakistan perceive sex education !!

Where boys and girls are both in Health class and learn about private parts and sex.

Fair enough .. we can agree on that sex education should be taught separately to boys and girls!

I am actually interested in knowing how our prophet Muhammad(pbuh) dealt with the issue. Any knowledgeable person who can shed light on it???

Not teach them about making babies or condoms. But how to be safe when someone tries to touch them in inappropriate places. Note the molester could be their own sibling or parent as well(as we cant have a rule set in stone that blood relatives wont do anything like that)

My sex education was walking to the bazar and seeing a loosey kutta fucking a kutti in the alley when I was 10.

Please tell me how sex education can help to reduce crime and I will take this thread seriously.

Yea I guess it's not necessary. All you have to do is to tell your kids to never let anyone touch you anywhere else except for the top of your head and you should be good to go.

Even that is not neccessary. I would never ever contemplate mentioning anything like that to my kids. The fact is children know innately such "touching" as bad. You socialize your children by the actions and behaviour to exhibit around them. Children will instictively know what is wrong and what is acceptable. The only exception I would make is if a child has learning difficuties in which case there might be need for "education".

I guess I'm more so on the protective side.
