Should Punjab be broken up into smaller states?

From my pov, provinces should be dissolved completely. And city government structure should introduce. Where each mayor/Nazim should be accountable for his city.

That can't happen. Pakistan is a federation, not a unitary state where you toy around with units (provinces/states etc) as much as you like.
Doing what you suggested would partly take away the autonomy of each province.

i heard about Sindh also, will they do? as, the most troubling state of Pakistan is now Sindh, due to Karachi, where the scores are more than total US's Drones scores in whole Pakistan?
I think, karachi may be left for the Muhajir community and then it would be all ok, i guess .....

There is no such demand in Sindh until very recently however nationalist Sindhis are threatening to go for separatist moment having the current situation issues karachi's leadership has decided not to pursue it for now. Punjab has a long history and Seraiki soba and bhawalpur have long been demanded by the people

Japan has the same population as Pakistan and is a much smaller landmass, yet they have something like 50 prefectures. Pakistan Should also aim for 50 or so provinces.

Not sure about this. In India, building states according to linguistic lines has been quiet successful by giving various groups a say in their own governance. This helps improve participation which reduces resentment against other communities.

Japan may not be the right example here considering that it is quiet homogeneous which is not the case with Pakistan or India. Isn't prefectures more like Municipalities?

I actually mean to take away the autonomy of each province. there is nothing toying around with the units.. We already have one system which did good under Musharaf's Era. Now only provinces need to dissolve and make City government work. Breaking province will create more ethical segregation (see what happened when Gilgit province was created, also what happened when NWFP name was changed to KPK). Same thing will happen when Punjab will b divided into siriki province. Then Bhawalpur province should also be created, also gujrat, and so o on... this is never ending process..best thing is to remove provinces from the scratch and introduce city government system to avoid all ethical differences and also increase more administration units.

Exactly, the provinces are based on ethnic bases which is never a good idea. We need ones based on administrative basis.
For example, Karachi itself needs to be broken into two zones for management, let it stay one city but be managed by two people and micromanaged like it is now. Then, we do the same with every other city/rural area we have

I say do away with the present Provinces by making our 'divisions', which are already made along administrative lines, as 'Our Provinces' and empower the Local Governments by following a British or Irish styled 'County System' ! However, that being said 'No-Solution' would be acceptable by the vast majority of us if there is even an ounce of ill-will to suggest that Punjab is being sent to the slaughter-house because some Ethno-Nationalists elsewhere think that 'Punjab Khaa Giyaaa !', 'Punjabi Fauj ne ye kiyaaa' or 'Punjab hamarei bachoon ki kabroon par apnei mahaaal banaa rahaaa hai' or similar sh*t like that ! For us - Punjabis - Pakistan comes first and we'd be willing to bifurcate the Province into 101 different Provinces if need be but never if any of this comes with 'ill-will' against us. Either way - Subb seh Pehlei Pakistan and you can be sure that we'd stick to that through thick and thin no matter the cost.
