Shops to close by 7pm, marriage halls by 10pm in Sindh

LOL shops to be closed at 7!
Last year in Federal and may be in punjab too, they decided to close shopes at 8. Traders community protested and forced the govt to change the time from 8 to 10:00pm. And still that decision is yet to be implemented.
Lets see how much of it sindh govt can implement. As of Karachi, i don't see it coming

7 is too early and not practical. A common person leaves his private job around 5:30pm. HEnce 9 pm is a more realistic closure time for the shops on weekdays and for weekends it should be 10 pm. Marriage halls should close by 10 pm on any day of the weak.

Could you elaborate long term effects? When most of the working class go out with family for shopping and eating by depriving their leisure what Govt will gain?

Long term effects:

- Saving of electricity.
- Better social life time, both for shopkeepers and public. Shopkeepers literally have no social life.
- No traffic congestion at 7.
- Only shops are to be closed, not hotels, restaurants & cafe's, as they remain open.
- Just see how all developed countries are practicing it in Europe
- Early to bed & early to rise is a concept even proven by science.

Government will not gain that much, the public will gain more.
This is already been practiced in Punjab small cities since ages.

The Sindh government in a cabinet meeting has decided to close shops by 07:00 pm and marriage halls by 10:00 pm, for which ministries of labour and industries have been tasked to ensure the implementation.

It was agreed that the system would be enforced from November 1st, but before that the government would take market associations and shopping malls management into confidence over the new timings.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had hinted last month towards the development. Addressing a programme organised by Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry he said we are developing a system under which all business activities would start functioning from the morning to evening.

The CM directed the district administration to meet traders, market associations and other stakeholders and update him about their feedback on daily basis.

In an attempt to reduce the financial burden of poor people, the cabinet also put restrictions on number of meals that can be served at weddings to three; curry, rice and any sweet dish.

Our marriages go on till at least 1 am. I don't like this new rule. Its just an assault on the freedom of Pakistanis in the name of laws, governance and security. Government has no right to dictate terms to the people and tell us what to do. I can see that the reasons for this may be noble but the effect will only be the curtailing of basic freedoms for pakistanis.

Shopping at night is a great fun. Restricting such fun may increase stress in the society.

Especially in the south asian societies where the weather during the whole summer season encourages that attitude.Everyone doesn't own a vehicle with an AC, similarly everyone doesn't have an access to an air conditioned shopping center/mall.
7pm is way too strict. It's most probably an initial hard stance with a plan to mellow out a little towards a lenient one later on.The CM is not going to receive a positive feedback from the stakeholders.
Can only be experimented if he tries to reform the working hours from 9-5 to something like 7-3.

Mushkil h...its too early, man. Log Shaam ko hi nikalte hain...Din ki garmi me khi jaise mausam me kon niklega?

Lmfao.
What are they trying to do
put sindh in the grave?

I just wish PPP goons kill themselves so that we can take sigh of relief...They are brutally incompetent...We Karachiites are totally helpless...Our city is going down the drain...

Good one Hazrat but city is plagued with such drugs that even the local lawmen are involved in certain parts of the city by receiving weekly or monthly beat. :what:
Garda is not that harmful its harder drugs like chars and heroine that cause harm but garda makes them try those so it should be avoided

not in Punjab though they have strict laws against it now people celebrate wedding in villages just so they cam continue their marriage celebrations for a longer period

In Punjab they made exception for bakeries and pharmacies so a lot of shops became bakeries by just displaying loaf of breads at counters it was fummy :D
Later they changed the laws

For God sake Sheikh, I hate these things from the core of heart. Any drug that harm the senses, is actually unhealthy and damaging one. don't you know, Talis have been using such for the new recruits to get them under spell of being blessed etc. and make them irresistible against their own minds and senses.

Arey bhaiya ham bus ye keh rahey hain kich kam khatarnak hain kuch ziyada bur khatarnak sab hain

May be this is due to mismanagement and poor maintaining of power grids and power supply

We have a winner.

This has nothing to do with "saving electricity" or reducing the financial burden on the poor by mandating 3 dishes.

It's to allow uninterrupted electricity supply to the residences of Sindh. The more buildings that demand electricity the more load-shedding there will be. "Saving electricity" only makes sense if you have a surplus of it and not 14 hours of load-shedding.

As for the 3 dishes, this is more materialistic desires for the Choudaries to upstage the walima of their neighbor the Butts.
