Are they dangerous like you hear or is it just lot of hype? Is more nuanced like if your white your dead, whereas I would be fine or is it any outsider and your in trouble?

Depends though. Not all Blacks are thugs or behave violently. But most of them do. I remember after 9/11 a lot of Sikhs were attacked and killed in racially motivated attacks by Black youths, in what would normally be considered a "hate crime", but that category only applies when its a White on Black crime (which is very rare, most interracial crimes are Black on White or Black on any other race/ethnicity).

Besides 9/11 though, most Desi Taxi drivers even don't venture into Black neighborhoods for fear of being attacked, robbed, and even killed. Their fears aren't unfounded however. I grew up in ghetto's of NYC so i know what im talking about.

@Desert Fox Frankly I would struggle to differantiate between some of those "oily" Arabs and the Africans?

Yeah, that's true, but they consider themselves superior to south Asians and African migrants regardless of this fact.

I also don't think it's wrong to speculate about mental illness. Have you seen some of his photographs?

If a Muslim kills whites his labeled as a "terrorist", and other Muslims are expected to apologise for his actions, but when a white guy kills Muslims then he's labeled as "mentally ill", and guess what other whites aren't expected to apologies. That is the difference.

As is the case throughout the world there are some neighborhoods with concentrations of very very poor people (they can be white/black/hispanic/etc usually (but not always) living in some public assisted housing project). These are the areas where most of the shootings that make headlines occur. These areas are well known and people stay away from them.

Successful people have moved out of the "poor" areas and into better neighborhoods to get away from the crime. Those neighborhoods even if predominantly black are of course safe.

Thanks for your reply. Although I have never been to USA ( my brother went to Las Vegas back in 2000 ) but you have such a great country. Fantastic lanscape. I love your open spaces. I prefer the quite life and some of that wide open spaces in USA are just out of this world. However for such a great country with so much going for it I can't seriously get my head around the fact that you guy's have guns, guns and more guns. On top of that violent crime - that gun crime is just out of the roof. Just seems a dream has been ruined with these guns and crime.

Does not look too run down. Impressed with the amount of space around the houses. In UK you would have to pay near £500,000 to get house with that sort of open aspect. So who ever lives there are lucky buggers. However it does look grim and scary. I would probably just push my foot on the pedal and get out of there.

Was it not for guns in your country you would have had another immigrant ( me ) coming over and moving somewhere in the vast plains of mid west in some small town.

I was going through the comments on the stats on the site and seems like the numbers given are far less than they should be in reality. I think gun ownership in recent days have increased drastically...

The question is to everyone here...would the media coverage and portrayal be quite different IF this act was committed by a Muslim? What are the chances he would be given a benefit of a doubt as mentally ill person dealing with childhood abuses and traumas etc.

Most housing projects and Section 8 housing is like this in America. You'd be surprised about how good the living standards are of these so called "oppressed" Blacks in America. They have all of the basic amenities like gas, electricity, plumbing, repair and maintenance free of cost or subsidized by taxpayers money. They only pay the rent. Meanwhile most White Americans, who make up the bulk of America's middle/working class, have to pay full rent, gas and electricity bill, plumbing, repair and maintenance out of their own pockets, even under adverse economic conditions where employees are being laid off and good paying jobs are scarce. And yet, these people complain about oppression by the "evil Whitey" when in fact White Americans make up the largest poor in America due to hiring discrimination and quotas.

Most Mid-westerners are very friendly. In fact, two of the largest Muslim communities in America are located in Texas and Michigan, two states where gun laws are very loose.

You should ask most American Muslims why they choose to move into "racist White" states/neighborhoods but don't move into Black neighborhoods.

I don't deny that at all...but your passion is commendable in defending the poor white people...
