About time, wonder if courts in India can award such speedy & meaningful justice.

The incident, which was caught on camera, went viral and drew widespread criticism from people.

The message is loud and clear for speed devils who love stunt-driving, and put the lives of others at risk on our roads - pick a broom and clean the streets. Four hours daily for 30 days.

The Incident: Dubai man's stunt driving video goes viral, gets arrested

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, is viewing such incidents seriously. He has ordered the driver of an SUV and his two friends who performed stunts with their car on City Walk last week to do community service, which includes cleaning the streets.

In the video posted online, several people are seen running for safety as the vehicle careens dangerously close to them. "The stunt was made amidst busy traffic in the presence of families and children, violating traffic laws and general road etiquette," said Dubai Media Office.

Police swiftly arrested the Emirati men and filed cases against them. Community service is an additional punishment but it is not known when it will begin for the driver and his friends.

Following the incident and another involving a quad bike rider, Dubai Police asked residents to report dangerous driving. People can record traffic violations and send them through the 'We Are All Police App'.

Egypt should do this for people who violate traffic laws even though no one follows them these days which needs to be fixed, UAE is very smart.

The UAE can afford such a policy as most locals behave on the roads compared to most other Arab and Middle Eastern countries. For instance the roads in KSA and Egypt would be depopulated for a while of especially the youth if every traffic violation was dealt with this way.

I know but it's good either way:enjoy::lol: since I am sick of doing something as mundane as crossing the street like it's an olympic sport with my life on the line.

Same goes for Kuwait and Qatar. There's just no way this law would work around here lol.

I kinda like what the UAE's doing though. The UAE is sorta like the Arab version of China and Singapore.

its easy to cross the street in cairo.. no need to use zebra crossing, those are for animals... just walk slowly and hold your palm towards incoming traffic.. pray to god that a maniac taxi driver does not kill you.
if you are taxi driver... just swing the car left and right... wherever you find space between your car and the one in front of you... try to stop when you see people crossing at random place... pray to god that the brake works. :)
