According Igor Sevestyanov, Deputy Director General of Rosoboronexport, ground weapons exports in 2000 amounted to about USD 200-250 million, ITAR-TASS reports.

"Statistics from 2012 show that the volume of Russian exports of ground weapons has increased by seven times," Sevastiyanov emphasized during the Russia Arms Expo 2013.

Company representative also said that the export prospects for such weapons is also very optimistic.

"Our exports consist primarily of armored vehicles and artillery, as well as precision-guided weapons/air defense systems and anti-missile systems," he said.

India has traditionally been one of the main buyers of Russian ground weapons, but to date there has been a sharp rise in demand for Russian weapons in Latin America and Africa.

ROSOBORONEXPORT has the official status of the exclusive state agent possessing the right to supply the world market with a full range arms and military equipment authorized for export and produced by the Russian military-industrial complex enterprises. The State Corporation Rostec owns 100% of the shares in OAO Rosoboronexport.
