The pilot is Li Gang, the first person to fly J-20 back in 2011.

I think he is upset about crashing the jet into a populated area. He tried his best to steer it away from the population center (didn't eject until the plane was at 300 meters) but the crashed plane still ended up hurting seven people.

Lei Qiang and Li Zhonghua are 2 more famous one. They are both retired and protected just like Yang Liwei of China first astronaut.

It's OKay when a prototype crash in test ... even F-22. The question wtf engine that crashed J-10B installed ? I heard the engine stop when J-10B flight ... i looked the crashed engine pic ... it looks like a AL-31 ***.

I don't think that the pilot is to blame for this. He did the best he could considering the situation.

The second stage pedals on the Al-31 are much larger then what is photographed in the wreckage.
