MQM ex supporters wont go to PTI now because they harbor lot of sympathies with MQM and during current hard time MQM is going through they wont leave MQM like that because they still have sentiments for the Party along with whom they have seen Good and Bad Times in the past. Its Anti MQM Vote Bank that PTI has potential to get right now but now since JI has also came in to action that Vote would divide as well.
I can agree with you to some extent for JI but PTI has Pashtun Elements stronger in Karachi not Urdu Speaking element if you consider them on organization level. Altaf's words about ARY would effect few people but overall nothing would happened because its very well observed they are BIASED towards PTI. Those Evidences and other things would also effect in favor of MQM because most of the people of this constituency have seen the time during 1990s when Haqiqi was imposed so they have been through all that and also been through Media Biased before.
If that is the case then JI is also a suspect because Practically both are fighting for same people to Vote i.e Anti MQM Votes.
Tariq Road wasnt 100% MQM area rather it was Mixture of Sunni Tehrik and MQM due to large Memon population and that area is quite irrelevant for NA 246 because places like Liaqatabad, Gharibabad, Musa Calony and other areas are located here and even Bhutto was Greeted with Shoes in those areas when he came to Karachi in the same manner Imran Khan is coming. So Tariq Road Example is quite irrelevant to show here and if MQM work on exposing their Sectarian and Taliban outfits links of PTI even that area would be gone from PTI.
Agreed its not about winning for PTI rather providing a message but if JI is able to get Anti MQM Votes then this would give quite opposite message that all PTI Votes of 2013 Elections were belong to JI so either PTI try to convince JI to step down in their favor or try harder then what they are trying so far.
Upper Middle Class are mostly with PTI but medium Middle Class and Lower middle Class are still with MQM for the time being unless they dont have another alternative as Imran Khan is perceived as Temporary Phenomenon right now.
MQM is not interested in Punjab now especially during these tough times because they are more concerned with saving their own base which is Karachi and this Election would be the special case for them if they won they would survive longer and if they lose someone else would take the place. Margin doesnt matter for them as much as its matter for PTI. Survival through winning the seat is a thing which they are trying right now. They can reclaim other seats later but this one is what is most Important for them.
They dont need to because their performance during LB system is quite well known to Karachi and also its way better then PTI's current performance in KPK in last two years. Everyone understand the problem that if they are given authority they deliver the results but so far PTI despite of authority of a province have Dharnas and Jalsas to show to people.
Its part of campaign and you can get pamphlets of everything in Karachi just wait outside Masjid after Friday Prayers so this is all part of Campaign and quite Normal and very low cost Practice in comparison to Jalsas and Dharnas.
