While it is easy to say that the CII isn't doing enough to combat extremism, and is only worrying about useless issues (at least what the public deems to be useless), it's mandate was never meant to combat extremism. The CII was simply an advisory board on Islamic law, helping the government make sure that Pakistani laws did not conflict with Islam, and giving religious advice to the government. One could argue that it's past fatwas against extremism were in fact stepping over it's boundaries, as issuing such fatwas are not apart of it's mandate.

I feel that the organization gets unjustified criticism sometimes, through no fault of it's own. It is simply doing what it is mandated to do, nothing more.
lol, thanks for this piece of article. People should wait a bit before bashing any kind of beings, organizations or countries. This is a very serious issue, terrorism itself can be partially banished if these divorce situations can be properly fixed along with equal rights for women in courts and especially, especially
Pakistani society. The courts may or may not give equal rights to women but what our "muashra"(society) does to women who divorce is equally or more worse.
I don't quote religion but the following is a hadith concerning divorce (different forms of it can be found). Please read it with an open mind, you can agree or disagree with it, it really doesn't matter to me.
"Verily, Iblees (Iblis, Satan or Shaytan) placed his throne over the water and then he sends out his troops. The nearest to him are the greatest at causing tribulations. One of them says: I have done this and this. Iblees says: You have done nothing. Another says: I did not leave this person until I caused discord between him and his wife. Iblees says: You have done well."
Or this one. "Every evening, the Devils gather around their head(they have a hierarchy too, like humans) and the head calls out to the others to see who has done the most harm today. One raises the hand and says "I have made someone drunk". The head says that you haven't done anything. Another raises the hand and says "I have made someone kill another person". The head says that you haven't done anything. Another raises the hand and says "I have made a husband and a wife quarrel and made a rift among them". The head calls him over and says, "Look, you should all be like this and only he/she has done some good(according to them)".
The reason for divorce being a grave matter is because it destroys families and bloodline(s) of the future. I am not against equality though but the equality shouldn't be after divorce but
before it too.
Does the rule of saying talaq 3 times apply for women to get a divorce from their husband too? Discriminatory if it doesn't.
Saying the word goes both ways, both a woman and a man have the right to say the words three(3) times in their life. Three times is because it should be specific and clear and not cause confusion. It is a very grave matter and even in jokes, the word shouldn't be said either.
The above is what I have heard but not confirmed, the source is my family, any other forum member can confirm this?
