Save Karachi ..

.
I am opening this Thread to encourage all PDF members who live in Karachi and also those who has relatives , family and friends in Karachi to ask them to start Plant some Trees in their towns and Streets ( if there is place for it ) .. Recent Wave of heat took 50+ lives in Karachi in 2 days , and in 2015 it was even worse when 2000 People died because of heat strokes .

I request Moderators to featured this thread and use any Influence you have or any member here has to spread the word , Trees will not just be good for Environment but It will provide shade for those who have no homes or place to stop under , Trees will also help Birds to stay cool in this extreme heat wave ..

Karachi has been running adhoc mode for last 40 years by adhoc means , it runs on it's own

a) The Administrators of city don't have approach to fix problems
b) The Administrators don't have clue to fix pending projects and problems such as water
c) The water supply lines do not deliver water with any pressure across different neighbourhood
d) There is no Desalination plant
e) When water is avilable , Water Mafia breaks down lines , to reduce pressure in water lines
and then promotes water tanker culture
f) People routinely burn garbage in neighbourhood plots to remove garbage but that creates
a nasty smell in neighbourhood and people with allurgy can't breath.

Wall Chalking and grafiti is all over government and private property , even when residential owners , paint over the grafiti , someone sponsors painters to go write political slogal across not just a region but whole city

We can talk about Public Gardens and Neighbourhood parks and trees later when basic
needs of a Metro City are not being met

Mangrove foresting is the very right answer. People of Karachi should run a campaign for restoration of mangrove foresting and against its illegal logging.
What other options we have in trees that can be planted at sea side ? We have seen cocnut and other trees growing at sea shore, but not sure if they can grow in Pakistani environment as well ...
