Save Karachi ..

I am opening this Thread to encourage all PDF members who live in Karachi and also those who has relatives , family and friends in Karachi to ask them to start Plant some Trees in their towns and Streets ( if there is place for it ) .. Recent Wave of heat took 50+ lives in Karachi in 2 days , and in 2015 it was even worse when 2000 People died because of heat strokes .

I request Moderators to featured this thread and use any Influence you have or any member here has to spread the word , Trees will not just be good for Environment but It will provide shade for those who have no homes or place to stop under , Trees will also help Birds to stay cool in this extreme heat wave ..

Just planting is not enough. Plant need care for 3 to 4 years to be a tree, and care is important than plantation.

Real problem is carbon emission heat which is very quickly contained by humidity (excess moisture) and create a strangling effect. And with excuse sometimes plants even increase the humidity.

So first thing is to prevent excessive humidity in your home with proper ventilation. And to avoid skin allergies, get rid of carpets and any other stuff like heavy curtains which can absorb fungus. Plus keep sewerage pipes clean.

Mangrove foresting is the very right answer. People of Karachi should run a campaign for restoration of mangrove foresting and against its illegal logging.

We also need to break monopoly of K-Electric and liberalize electric supply and distribution in Karachi to bring modern technology, reduce faults and stop electric theft. No court takes Suo Moto over such trival issues.

Had planted eucalyptus trees outside our home in Karachi.. one day DHA folks came and tore them down for some hazy violation.

Later it was found all these trees were taken down on fake violations because a son-of-soil, defender of borders pauji had the idea to sell them to a match factory to line his pockets.
