What has the imaginary "tribal culture" (when in pre-Islamic times Arab women had more rights than almost anyone else and when Arabs had more ancient female rulers than any other nation in the world, including the only de facto female Caliph in history as well (Fatimid Arab woman)

to do with a 35 year old moronic law?

Especially when Arab women in Arabia were at the battlefield during the Islamic era plenty of times and rode horses, camels etc. long before cars were invented 100 + something years ago?

Makes no sense.

The ban on women driving derives from a fatwa by the previous Grand Mufti of KSA (Ibn Baaz) and nothing else.

All of historical Arabia. Read the thread that I linked to. Has nothing to do with this only being Hijaz.

https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/anci...caliph-in-history-do-arabs-hate-women.564572/

Many of those ancient historical Arab female rulers were from Najd, Eastern Arabia etc. Not only Hijaz although majority were from Hijaz.

Similarly with Arab female Islamic warriors. Not all were from Hijaz. Same with riding horses and camels (the Ferraris and Lamborghinis of the world until modern technology not long ago arrived).

The previous ban originates from a fatwa from Ibn Baaz (former Grand Mufti) and after his death it was supported by hardliners in the Ulema. Nothing to do with any imaginary tribal culture.

As a curiosity, most of the women activists against this stupid, now abandoned "law", were from Najd.

I know that due to sect and politics, you want to demonize Najd but it's a bit silly when you don't know the history or the details. It just appears desperate.

I believe it is a wise decision to allow women to drive in Saudi Arabia. Saudi women will contribute enormously to the Saudi economy.

Now the Islamophobes will no longer say "hey look at Saudi Arabia, it is a Muslim country and they do not allow women to drive there."

Now the stupid enemies of Islam will shut up now.

One less stick for the West to beat Western Muslims over the head with. This policy was an embarrassment to Muslims worldwide.

Anytime we had legitimate discourse, they would always respond with, “Well women can’t drive in Saudi.”

The idea of not letting women drive was wrong in the first place.

But the Saudis argue it is because of their society at that time. Now their society is ready for it (women to drive in Saudi Arabia).

It's good that times are changing for the better.

Now people in the west can no longer say "that in a Muslim country like Saudi Arabia, women cannot drive." People in the west have been using this catchphrase for too long now.

Now they will no longer be able to say it, thankfully. The morons in the west will shut up now.

What silence brother.. do you want Saudi Arabia to take on the US in a war.. there is no such Usrael.. it is the US and the West in disguise....please real all the threads I have posted on this section concerning the Saudi reactions, statements and financial hep to the massacre.. be it within the Arab league or on its own..

There is 500'000 SAR fine for taking pictures of driving women or harassing them.
Haters of Saudi Arabia should be careful.

http://lifeinsaudiarabia.net/blog/2...-taking-pictures-and-videos-of-driving-women/

Not for simply taking photos or filming videos of women driving. Otherwise the existing videos and photos would not have been published.

Heavy Punishment: Mohammad Al-Rabigh, a legal advisor in the Kingdom said anyone who will ridicule women driving or turn it into a material of grooming and humor through social media will be punished according to the rules and regulations because this type of activity is an abuse of the state system.

He explained that the punishment for such act of ridiculing driving women or photographing them and turning their event into a humor include imprisonment and heavy fines.

The system of cyber-crimes punishes anyone who produces or publishes any harm to the public orders, religious values or anyone’s private life. The violator will be punished by imposing fines up to 3 million Saudi Riyals and up to 5 years’ imprisonment.
There won't be any problems whatsoever. The majority of the public have always been against this 35-40 year old moronic "law" for ages.

If anything women on the roads will improve the road safety (contrary to popular belief), the enormous economic benefits are well-known and better the huge number of foreign drivers won't be needed. Thus millions of families will not waste money on such a stupidity. Additional jobs being created as well.

There is literally no negative about this law.
