The western world took advantage of the good hearted, open, democratic, lawful and brilliant Muslim civilization in Europe for more than 800 years, they took every bit of knowledge and used it in a Machiavelli style to defeat their teachers, but not only that, they have improved the style to unprecedented heights in manipulating the human psyche, first through colonialism; by injecting an inferiority complex in the conquered populace and then trying to keep them there indefinitely, second through the appropriation of knowledge per se and its monopolization..They did this with China (one of the oldest civilizations) too, and since both the Muslims and the Chinese have shared knowledge between them for centuries, as well as trade (The famous silk road), they were targeted and weakened ( by own faults first and "helped" by the West afterwards)..In a nutshell, knowledge is power, and who ever holds it and improves on it and makes it practical will hold the most power, China understood this and is now on top of it, The Arab/Muslims fortunately or unfortunately not being a one nation, are just beginning to grasp this reality.._Like if they have never been there for almost a thousand years_, let's just say that the Western work on the Arab/Muslim psyche was worst than the opium effects on the Chinese human behaviour, productivity and health during western presence..Anyway to make it clear, I don't dislike Western people or even the West as a cultural phenomenon but I do realize that they, like any other country/region/bloc are looking for their own interests first and foremost. The West has shown since the colonial era (that also impacted China and much of the non-Western world if not all of it) that they do not care about progress in the region, being direct neighbors of the Arab world or not. They were happy as long as the natural resources and minerals were offered to them and as long as there was somewhat of an stability (in order words unrest was/is fine as long as it does not impact Europe/the West directly) and no challenging regimes in power. Basically they wanted/want an obedient neighbor that they can easily influence. Basically much of the current "order" (not very successful overall) in the Muslim world is mostly the legacy of the colonial era.
On the other hand Chinese interests and that of the Arab world and wider Muslim world collide naturally if you ask me. Hence why I believe that such an relationship must be cultivated. Forget about the regimes in power in the Arab world currently( they won't last forever) but think about the people. Same story in China.
If increased economic, political, social, military etc. ties could lead to a close, respectful and mutually beneficial partnership between China and the Arab world/Muslim world, why not pursue such a thing? What is there to lose exactly?
Where would the West be today if for instance the US and Western Europe were at odds? Or if Australia and New Zealand were at odds? Or Canada and the US?
Instead we, as the fools that we are in the Middle East, keep fighting proxy wars (local governments are to blame but also the West and ordinary people sadly, too,) for silly power games that matter nothing in the wider picture instead of joining hands for the sake of the region and for the sake of the overall development that has suffered from such conflicts for FAR too long and prevented the necessary economic, political, social, military progress which potential (all areas) is so big and hugely unfulfilled.
I see China as a bulwark of "sanity" in this regard, dare I say. As a friend, potentially a life-long friend, that could help that long-lost friend that faces trouble and needs a helping hand. Not because that friend is "Robin Hood" but because by stretching his hand out, he will be able to not only help that long lost friend return to sanity but also himself by virtue of gaining something from that help.
After all states are first and foremost looking after their own interests and that of their people (to various degrees and depending on the type of people in power) but if the interests of states collide, they tend to become friends if not at least close economic partners. And if they become close economic partners they tend to become close on other fields as well.
Just my two quick cents.

who cares what heppend 800 years ago?The western world took advantage of the good hearted, open, democratic, lawful and brilliant Muslim civilization in Europe for more than 800 years, they took every bit of knowledge and used it in a Machiavelli style to defeat their teachers, but not only that, they have improved the style to unprecedented heights in manipulating the human psyche, first through colonialism; by injecting an inferiority complex in the conquered populace and then trying to keep them there indefinitely, second through the appropriation of knowledge per se and its monopolization..They did this with China (one of the oldest civilizations) too, and since both the Muslims and the Chinese have shared knowledge between them for centuries, as well as trade (The famous silk road), they were targeted and weakened ( by own faults first and "helped" by the West afterwards)..In a nutshell, knowledge is power, and who ever holds it and improves on it and makes it practical will hold the most power, China understood this and is now on top of it, The Arab/Muslims fortunately or unfortunately not being a one nation, are just beginning to grasp this reality.._Like if they have never been there for almost a thousand years_, let's just say that the Western work on the Arab/Muslim psyche was worst than the opium effects on the Chinese human behaviour, productivity and health during western presence..
The recent awakening of the Arab/Muslim world and the actions being taken, makes us hopeful for a bright future alongside our Chinese old and dependable friends.. there are also some Western countries that are willing to help through common interests, So we need to become strong again in all fields of life and share with our best friends while taking lessons from history..
The Silk Road is coming again with all what it implies, not only for the benefit of China and the Muslim world, but potentially for most parts of the world..

Yes, the west is to blame for every developing/underdeveloped countries backwardness/infighting/dictators. Lol if it makes them feel better after saying this, then so be it.let it remain that way.
Not to blame for everything. But it makes sense many people say things in this direction, after all did the west not interfere with the middle east heavily. Launched wars, organized coups, imposed sanctions. The west was doing this decades ago, and still to this day in Libya and Syria.
It's always the US with Europe following their FP.
