Eid al-Fitr begins on Tuesday, the Saudi Supreme Court has announced.

The announcement was made after the Shawwal crescent was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Monday.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed sent cables of congratulations to leaders of Islamic countries on the occasion of the Eid, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

They also received cables from the leaders of Islamic countries, SPA added.

On the occasion, King Salman wished Saudi Arabia, the Islamic nation and the world a happy Eid.

In his message, he said the Kingdom seeks to serve Islamic causes and support peace.

By calculation they calculate the conjunction happened so they announce it and the rest of the countries because of the importance of mecca also announced it . some countries like iran and if im not wrong Morocco and Indonesia don't accept calculation and announce it if the see the moon.

I know they don't rely on observing with naked eye which is not bad due to possibility of bad weather conditions but the moon was in state of prior to conjunction in June 3 & wasn't formed yet ...
