The crux of the issue is that the vast majority of suicide bombers in the past decades (which number in the hundreds) are from Saudi Arabia, and those that are not follow the wahabi school of thought that comes from Saudi Arabia. Famous example are Osama and his crew, the rest of the 9/11 gang, Al Quida, fighters in AFG, Russia and Uzbekistan and Saudi funded maderesas of Pakistan. In Iraq 3/4 of suicide bombers have been from Saudi Arabia.

I provided links of a grade 12 Saudi textbook. Go to the previous page and read what it preaches and you will get an idea of why so many terrorists are saudi. You wanna knit pick on who's funding what? Well, the Saudi govt is indeed funding the ministry of education in Saudi Arabia, and these books are up there with Hitler's Mein Kampf in terms of racist and hate filled drivel. The Pakistani 'maderesas' are also funded by the Saudi govt, and we've seen their handy work in the country.

Saudi conservative ideology was used as a strategic geopolitical tool by some short sighted strategists in US/CIA with cooperation from some Pakistan Army Generals, to contain Soviet expansion in Afghanistan. This was a strategic blunder and this specific mistake unleashed "jihadi terror" in the region and beyond as a blow-back. Saudi private donations was used utilizing sympathy for a "Muslim cause". We have benefit of hind sight to criticize, but it is wise to not play with fire, the result is sometime unpredictable. Ideas have consequences.

Saudi's, Pakistani's and the USA, all have become victims from not just the blow-back, but counter blow-back from the USA, as it started a "crusade" since 9/11 to finish off "jihadi terrist" from the face of the earth with millions of lives in collateral damage and close to 10 trillion in expense and counting.

Saudi Arabia is the single biggest contributor to the funding of Islamic extremism and is unwilling to cut off the money supply, according to a leaked note from Hillary Clinton.

The US Secretary of State says in a secret memorandum that donors in the kingdom still "constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide" and that "it has been an ongoing challenge to persuade Saudi officials to treat terrorist financing emanating from Saudi Arabia as a strategic priority".

In a separate diplomatic cable published by WikiLeaks last night, the militant group which carried out the Mumbai bombings in 2008, Lashkar-e-Toiba, is reported to have secured money in Saudi Arabia via one of its charity offshoots which raises money for schools.

Saudi Arabia is accused, along with Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, of failing to prevent some of its richest citizens financing the insurgency against Nato troops in Afghanistan. Fund-raisers from the Taliban regularly travel to UAE to take advantage of its weak borders and financial regulation to launder money.

However, it is Saudi Arabia that receives the harshest assessment. The country from which Osama bin Laden and most of the 9/11 terrorists originated, according to Mrs Clinton, "a critical financial support base for al-Qa'ida, the Taliban, Lashkar-e-Toiba and other terrorist groups, including Hamas, which probably raise millions of dollars annually from Saudi sources, often during the Haj and Ramadan".

These pilgrimages, especially the Haj, are described as a "big problem" in another cable dated 29 May 2009. Detailing a briefing from the Saudi interior ministry to Richard Holbrooke, the US envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, it notes: "The Haj is still a major security loophole for the Saudis, since pilgrims often travel with large amounts of cash and the Saudis cannot refuse them entry into Saudi Arabia."

It also quotes one of the officials admitting that the Haj is "a vacuum in our security". The huge annual influx of Muslims from around the world offers a prime opportunity for militants and their donors to enter the kingdom to exchange funds, launder money through front companies and accept money from government-approved charities.

The memo underlines that the US supports the work of Islamic charities, but is frustrated that they are so easily exploited to fund terrorism.

"In 2002, the Saudi government promised to set up a charities committee that would address this issue, but has yet to do so," Mrs Clinton's cable reads, before seeming to admit with disappointment that merely "obtaining Saudi acknowledgement of the scope of this problem and a commitment to take decisive action" has proved hard.

You are only analysing it in the context of your country, that too impartially and in a very selfish manner.

- Sectarian shia-sunni war in iraq, claimed 500k lives. Suicide bombers mainly of Saudi origin.

- Wahabi ideology in Afghanistan has never allowed the country to remain at peace since 1978 after the communist revolution. Killed countless in war against USSR and insurgency against government. Civil war. Then the US invasion.

- Destruction of Chechnya, hundreds of thousands killed due to this extremist ideology. Whole city destroyed

- 9/11 and numerous other terrorist attacks.

- Saddam, backed by these Saudis, killed hundreds of thousands of shias ......

I have read Wahab's "Kitab-at-Tawhid". At first glance you would find nothing harmful there. But it is the mode of interpretation which is the culprit. At that time it is understandable as some muslims were deviant from true islam and worshipping graves etc. but at present, that "mode" of interpretation has become a culprit in itself. Certain quranic verses (I can bring the examples) are being interpreted as permission to kill non-believers when actually the context under which those verses were revealed is something else entirely. I consider "wahabi" ideology to be at the root of this (not Abdul wahab himself) because the mode of interpretation comes from his literatures.
