hope that peace prevails in bosnia now.

.
Few months ago the head of the Saudi ecominc fund foundation was in Bosnia to discuss bilateral investment oburtuinties.

When are you guys going to send one of your guys to Pakistan for the both of us to take some more concrete steps to increase economic cooperation between the two of us even more ?

Once the aid money we gave to build the Balochi highways and infrastructure stops ending up in government official's hands.

I talked to the Head of the Saudi fund in Asia recently and the situation in Pakaistan is down right saddening, and I quote "We give them money to build a highway and once we go to inspect its progress the only thing we see is that they took away a few rocks from the road and want extra few millions, Pakistanis think we are idiots or something?"

.
In terms of donations KSA is putting most Muslim and non-Muslim countries to shame.

I am curious to see the donations of other countries to Bosnia out of interest.

In terms of efficiency even a private organisation like Gates and Melinda foundation can put KSA to shame. Reason, most of the KSA aid is used to build mosques, madrassahs useless cultural and quran schools and other infrastructure project where large amount of money is wasted and consumed in kickbacks or bribes.

Bro keep the aid...I don't want it ! The public is already clamoring for the Govt. to grow some spine & self-respect & kick the begging bowl once & for all.

I was talking about Trade & Economic Integration ! Surely KSA & Pakistan can invest in each other's country even more; the occasional Saudi-Pak Bank or leasing firm or fertilizer manufacturer isn't even scratching the top of the potential thats there.

Granted there is rampant corruption in Pakistan & the situation is hardly conducive to higher trade but we something to kick start the economy once more ! :cray:

Our present Government of thieves have already sapped us thin ! :hitwall:

Dude maybe having Pakistani students sign Government bonds to come to KSA for higher education financed by the KSA Government in return for providing services back to the Kingdom by working there for the next 5 years. Just like what the Singapore Govt. does.

Or giving some Saudi Petroleum Companies to explore our Oil & Gasfields in Sindh, Baluchistan & Punjab if not the other mineral resources herein. Your expertise our resources.

The possibilities are there but I dunno if either side is all that interested anymore.

Governments do aid not investements, private companies and individual do investments, and through aid to build infrastructure investments will come. But when even aid is being abused, there is really no big incentive for investment is there?

We do not want aid..
Aid only fills the pocket of corrupt government.
If Saudi's want to make a highway in Baluchistan, they should send a few engineers from Binladen to handle the project. The remaining manpower can be sourced locally.

The flood relief operations was one of the best example of transparent aid by-passing corrupt government pockets.

What ? :what:

Are you telling me that you haven't a Government owned Investment Company like the Chinese do (Chinese Investment Corporation) which uses all them reserves & invests all over the world on behalf of the Chinese Government !

Dude, no AID - It wouldn't achieve anything ! If we've left any goodwill with KSA, I doubt it though, it too would be shattered once the fatigue of giving aid settles in & because the effects aren't permanent the problem would continue to linger on only to emerge once more when the aid stops.

So More Trade...no Aid !

Imagine the news articles "Binladen in Pakistan again... To build" poor company will always carry a bad name wherever it goes.

Actually Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority (SAGIA) was newly created, But it is not about external investment it is just about internal investment. So it is only business men and private companies that make external investments. Besides last thing we need is public saying "Saudi government is taking all the money away from Pakistan, those evil Arabs are at it again, like the oil is not enough". And you know there is bound to be people like that, I mean for god sakes even our aid which is for free and is practically a give away is being attacked mercilessly what do you expect?

It's time to pack your bags and return to Pakistan. I don't want foreigners with that attitude on Arab lands and certainly not in the most important of them all - KSA.

Do you remember how thousands...hundreds of thousands greeted Sudais when he came to my City ? Do you remember how every single Saudi ambassador or official has been greeted very warmly by everyone in the Government & the Military of Pakistan ?

Why do you think ? Because KSA enjoys enormous goodwill in Pakistan ! If you're going to let a few of us Ultra-Nationalists to change your perception of what the average Pakistani thinks about KSA then we're succeeding but do visit Pakistan some day & walk amongst us to experience that goodwill for yourself.
