Featured Saudi Arabia and Pakistan: A partnership too important to fail

You have not answered any of my questions. Pakistan is not getting those benefits for free they do the job they get the benefits. Yet Pakistan's situation has only gotten worse and worse because the GCC countries actively dissuade Pakistan from seeking out its own interests. I say forget Iran too Pakistan needs to work on self reliance. But you will not see anyone threatening to send back an entire country's workforce from their country just because they are seeking out their own benefit. You are just making excuses for Arabs.

I have answered ur questions if ur able to understand. Pakistan situation is worst because of our own corruption and nepotism. When we elected nawaz sharif, they dealt with him according to his wish, when we elected imran khan they dealt with him n gave assistance. Pakistan have helped them but they could have secured the same help elsewhere for the money they gave us. Is that too complex to understand? Is there any proof they really gave that threat? Propaganda and emotional rants are what the world supposed to work? Our neighbor india behaves the same way, hindu extremism and emotion rhetoric. See what it have cost india, which was economically on a really fast rise, now hindutva emotional politics have brought them down. You want Pakistan to be the same? We have had relations with Turkey since start and if we keep balance, saudi wont mind us having relations. Till today they have not stopped us from relations with anyone, a specific case can happen as does everywhere. We need a mature and balanced foreign policy, as opposed to an immature reactive and short-sighted policy.

Reminds of the Pied Piper of Hamelin...

First, the Pied Piper got the town rid of all rats. When the town's people failed to keep their promise regarding the pre-agreed payment, he took away all the kids except a lame boy....

One thing is clear, SMQ should not have done that outburst. He is a very calculated man and i doubt he didnt plan it through. Maybe this was only way to get removed from foreign minister post and made CM punjab. This outburst will cost us alot.

That's one devious mind SMQ has!! To be kicked out in disgrace as the FM of Pakistan and to land as the most powerful Chief Minister in Pakistan as a reward? I don't see that happening.

No, the 'calculated' SMQ got carried away in 'Jazbatiat' (emotionalism) as the tv anchor Haroon Rashid said in a show very recently--he has inside connections with Imran Khan's cabinet.

The Pakistani Army Chief is out in KSA to do damage control. But I don't agree that the relationship is too important for both to fail. Maybe for Pakistan, yes, but not for KSA. Not by a long shot.

Anyway, Pakistan should not blindly follow the whims of a spoiled brat like the de facto King of Saudi Arabia (Mohd bin Salman) because that guy is a little too impetuous. But neither should Pakistan jeopardize the $9 billion/year plus other $$ coming from KSA and its allies.

re bold: Isn't that what Salman did when he threatened to send back all Pakistanis from KSA?

Part of the problem with corruption is the GCC support for the corrupt look at Qatar swooping in to rescue Shariff. Pakistan did not throw relations out of balance by trying to attend Malaysia meeting the reaction from Arabs was unwarranted. These are all long term foreign policy results, even a fool can see GCC is no longer treating Pakistan as an equal but as a subservient power at their disposal. One statement and they yank back $1b loan what is next? It is not Pakistan being emotional, they have been by GCC side for decades and now they are facing diminishing returns. It is time for something to change.

As an aside you haven't answered the question you have just said Iran also hasn't helped Pakistan or look what x is doing. The Arabs do not respect Pakistanis anymore (if they ever did, I am beginning to doubt it)

we need arabic channel and vice versa. Also general public/opinion of arab should be shaped that we are good friends. For instance, one thing is overwhelming Pak response to Ertagul. When Arab read Pakis comments they feel insecure (trivial but true). Also we must translate our dramas into arabic to cease also Bollywood influence. It will pave our narrative.

This is whenever any Non-Arab speaks about Islam or promotes Muslim interests, they feel like they have been left behind and it hurts them. I have observed it many times. It doesn't apply to all Arabs, but certain ones, yes.

Great observation.

@The Eagle very interesting points, especially 2,3,4 and 5.

To all. According to following program, SA never took back any payment for given oil on deferred payment. Be it 1998 or post 2000.
Ex ambassador is correct ...begging Pakistan suited to other nations and our politicians sold for aqama and castles ... But SMQ made correct move and it is fact Pakistan did alot for these arabs... Now Pakistan should post the fact sheet, how it has been helping these arabs since 1960..How Pakistan fought a first war of Yemen for Saudi Arabia , when Yemen took over huge chunk of KSA... and the list goes on ... But ultimately, Pakistan has to fight Kashmir war alone or with the help of few non-Arab nations....

They not going to touch Pakistan menpower, KSA and UAE earned 20 billion dollars from Pakistan ...balance of trade is more than 50 percent in KSA and UAE favor ....Plus, again its new generation of leaders, they want Pakistan to burry Kashmir issue with India. Because KSA and UAE has over 100 billion dollars in trade .. So, Pakistan has no worth. They need canon fooders ....

They might aswell cause us economic pain now and get rid of all the Pakistanis. The Saudis will do this one day. Might as well do it now and get it over and done with.

Absolutely ridiculous argument. SmQ was spot on. He did the right thing. Damage control? Lmao what damage control. Get out of this boot polish mentality

Can't believe people are bashing SMQ.
House of Saud need to be put in their place. Military has vested interests in Saudis. Oh yes raheel sharif, how could a retired army chief Work in a other country at the level he is in. Isnt that a security risk? Ever heard that a retired US Army chief is now the commander of Nato in let's say Germany France. Just unbelievably ridiculous
