MEP: A report by the Arabic-language IsraelinArabic website cited yesterday’s remarks by a senior Israeli journalist, Yossi Melman, televised by Israel’s Channel 10 network, says that Saudi Arabia is seeking a 400 million-dollar deal for buying unmanned aircrafts from Israel.

According to the report Melman said during his Tuesday’s televised interview that the initial talks about the matter was held between Anwar Eshki and top Israeli officials including the director general of Israel’s Defense Ministry, Udi Adam, during his (Eshki’s) trip to Israel on June.

Melman revealingly spoke of some challenges facing the negotiations of Saudi Arabia and Israeli Defense Ministry and the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). According to the political analyst, the Saudi officials called for acceleration in the delivery of drones of Harop and Eitan types. The Israeli officials convinced the Saudi side that realization of the demand would increase the cost of the contract for Saudi Arabia by 25 percent, Melman said.

So far, several countries including India and Germany purchased Israeli unmanned aircrafts. If Saudi- Israeli deal goes as planned, the Arab country will be the most recent country buying this sophisticated military weaponry from Israel.

Will there be a "Semitic discount" if such a thing happens? After all you are supposed to help cousins. If not maybe a "neighbor discount" instead?

In all seriousness, highly doubtful and unlikely if not impossible.

Especially considering this news.

ROBUST DEFENSE: Wing Loong drones will enhance Saudi forces’ capability to monitor borders.

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia has signed a contract with China for the purchase of an unspecified number of pterodactyl planes, also known as Wing Loong or medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned drones, according to a report in Al-Watan newspaper.
The Chinese unmanned drones are modeled after MQ-1 Predator; they have surveillance capabilities and are able to carry two air-to-ground missiles.
According to the Global Times, the Kingdom is the first Arab country to obtain such types of drones, which were developed by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group.
According to a press statement from the company last year, its drones are sold to four countries, including an unnamed country in Central Asia, while a series of negotiations are still going on with other potential clients.
The pterodactyl flies more than 4,000 km in 20 hours, and has a total payload capacity of up to 200 kg. It is equipped with laser-guided sensors.

I am not against military cooperation with Israel (purchases, joint projects etc.) per se but we both know that this is not going to happen unless the Palestinian question is solved. This is official policy and whether we or I like it this remains the opinion of most people (maybe this is changing) in KSA although to tell you the truth, most Saudi Arabians have other priorities and we have way more hostile elements from within the Arab world (Houthis, AQAP, ISIS, Hezbollah, Shia militias in Iraq) and the Mullah's next door.

You have close cooperation with Turkey and a few other Muslim countries and have official diplomatic ties to two of our Arab neighbors (that we have great ties with) Jordan and Egypt. You obviously also cooperate diplomatically with Abbas.

This isolation policy has not helped or changed anything. It is more a principle thing than anything else. De facto everyone recognizes that there is a country called Israel. So should we.

In fact I believe that restoring diplomatic ties officially (by all Arab states) could potentially pressure Israel more in regards to solving the conflict.

Anyway does Israel want to have ties with KSA? What is the word on the street?

no problem buy dont intervent in our internal stuff like palastineins

no problem buy dont intervent in our internal stuff like palastineins
Anyway relations with the Arab countries can not be stable because unstable regimes can get extreme Islam and every attack on Gaza or the death of a Palestinian they can easily break off a relationship like that I see these relations only temporary
Normalization of relations should not be linked to the Palestinians in my opinion there is no connection between each other
Both sides have something to gain

what countires and what are you develop?

:D

Lizard hunter UCAV !!!
Well I don't like to use such insults, but lets just say I'm extremely sceptical of any Saudi military development program. When a country has to buy 20 mm cartridges, they are in no position to build a MALE class UAV.

its metter if we cant trust our friend saudis that our weapons will not get into hostile hands if so we can do alot of deals we have alot of toys to offer you
Saudis are indeed trustworthy friends of yours just ask them to keep you posted whenever they role out a new proxy

why palastinen qution so importent?
not for Saudis.. only for non arab idiots like pakistan

the once you occupying
so we will live our home and they will make another arab failed state?

Speak for yourself. You are in no position to speak on the behalf of the Saudi Arabian nation and people let alone any other Arabs for that matter. Non-Arabs cannot speak on the behalf of Arabs just like we cannot speak on the behalf of Baloch people.

Our Palestinians brothers and sisters are our own flesh and blood and we have always supported Palestine and Palestinians and continue to do so today. We also host almost 1 million Palestinians and historically we are the greatest donors to Palestine.

And what exactly stops you from cooperating with Israel? KSA?

Anyway this thread is about KSA and Israel.

You being an ignorant is not really my problem.
so you can take few milion palastinen from israel you have money this land is our

Doesn't mean Iran's developments are very significant either.

Just saying, not firing any shots
