ISLAMABAD: Sanaullah Haq, a Pakistani prisoner who was critically injured after being brutally attacked by another inmate in central Jammu jail in Indian-administered Kashmir, died Saturday, Pakistani officials confirmed.

Haq was said to have been in a coma after the ‘revenge attack’.

The attack had come a day after a convicted Indian spy Sarabjit Singh died after being bludgeoned with a brick by fellow inmates at a Pakistani prison.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry called the jail attack in Indian-administered Kashmir an “obvious retaliation” for the killing of the Indian prisoner.
