Samsung ends mobile production in China, shifting plants to India, Vietnam

isnt that what people are saying when they hear/read "made in Indonesia"? at least in US we are used to seeing "made in China", "Made in India"and "made in Vietnam". i rarely see "made in INdonesia" lol

I have seen made in indonesia and made in thailand electronics etc lot more once you are in South East Asia especially. Its a big market there.

But its true in North America, when it isnt made in china for the stuff, its most likely made in vietnam. The default headphones that came with my phone for example, made in vietnam (whereas some years back, def would most likely be made in china).

A lot of companies are in the process of moving outta China and several others are in line while Vietnam, Indian and other South East Asian countries are grabbing those opportunities. We should offer attractive incentives and easy policies to make it faster and easier for these companies to set shop

For those blabbering that they'd stop buying Samsung, just because a few pakistanis stop doesn't mean the world would stop buying and pak's market share is insignificant.

No way am i buying a made in india phone. no more samsung for me now!!! Boo!!! Hell, its time to go back to Apple even with their prices.
Even Apple is moving the iphone manufacturing to India and foxconn's has currently 2 operating units that manufacture Chinese brands with more being built to serve Apple and Amazon alexa products

Indian domestic brands have been crushed. Micromax, kaboom etc. I wish samsung all the best. Hopefully they will capture more market share.

I am referring to both pak and china. Pakistan had a trade deficit with India until IK stopped trade. Samsung will lose market share in Pakistan, unless made in Vietnam.

Well, you fanboys in india and vietnam can jump with unrealistic joy, but the fact of the matter is that this is the beginning of the end of Samsung mobile phones dominance. In fact this is the single most dumbest decision made by Samsung.

What will happen very soon is that China will limit the "Rare Earths" used in mobile phones and other electronics to Samsung. This will have a severe impact on the sale of Samsung mobile phones and other communication equipment. Even if they manage to sources an alternative source of rare-Earths, they simply cannot compete with China on Rare-Earth costs. Hence making their products expensive. So it does not matter that Samsung is trying to move production to dirt-cheap and backward countries like India, they will loose big time due to poor quality control and expensive mobiles and communication devices.

Even the majority of the population of India prefer Xiaomi, how long will Bphone be around when Chinese, South Korean and American brands having the global market shares? Vietnamese phone probably disappear in the future if it relies solely on Myanmar.
Buy bphone4
It’s due to be released soon :tup:

Samsung admits defeat in China's vast smartphone market

Just a few years ago, one in every five smartphones sold in China was made by Samsung. How times have changed.

The smartphone maker said this week it was shutting down its last phone factory in the country in the southern city of Huizhou. Its share of the vast Chinese market has collapsed and labor costs have risen. The world's largest smartphone maker is now setting its sights on more promising markets.

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/04/tech/samsung-china-smartphone-production/index.html

Samsung is going to be cut significantly in size.

In that case, you should:-
not buy Jaguar and Land Rover;
not drink Tetley Tea;
not buy into any project that utilises the steel manufactured by Corus which happens to be UK's largest steel company;
ask the women in you life to not use lakme products;
Not buy apparels from brands such as Van Heusen, HiDesign, Allen Solly, Monte Carlo, Louis Philippe and Peter England(I'm not sure if this particular one is available in England, but just a a heads up if it is).
Overall there as of 2015 there were 800 Indian owned businesses in UK directly employing 110,000 people. So you may also wanna dictate them to quit their jobs.
Go big or go home.
Good day. :)
