What's new

Samjhota Express train has been suspended

Use the search button, someone whose 40 years younger than you could figure that out. Pity you can't, and you speak to me about issues.

At the moment i speak about issues in understanding what i write.... which was your own complaint on the first place... if you don't remember than forget it.

In any case, I don't expect any neutral person would be so charged up, with simple words.

Regarding, search function... i trust any one younger would know but so do i.

Just to clarify.... Previously we could list threads started by self.
Search function presently shows up all of the posts, unless you know the dates or subject.... but anyway it's not do or die.

It's an old age saying that you speak to someone the way you want people to speak to you. I had forgotten and also had a lot to do (big things are happening) so some leeway would have been appreciated.
Anyway let me search for the thread, what was it called?

On a final note; I am not the only one who thinks that Sh Rashid's action is pointless and indirectly support the Hindutva hardliners; here is the editorial from the 'Dawn'.

I am dismayed that most of my country's political leaders 'Don't think before they leap'. I wish that they act upon the age-old saying " Don't get mad, get even" instead of the emotionally charged knee-jerk reactions.

Pak-India trains stopped

EditorialAugust 10, 2019

IN a highly questionable move, the Samjhauta Express and Thar Express train services to India have been abruptly halted by the railways ministry after the Modi administration scrapped the constitutional article that had allowed autonomy to the people of India-held Kashmir. At the same time, the information ministry has decided to ban all cultural links with India, including the screening of films from across the border. Why punish the people? Pakistan’s move to downgrade diplomatic ties might make sense at such a time, but the Indian government will not be hurt by the clamp-down on cultural activities and exchanges, and train services. In fact, it will only embolden the administration in Delhi to increase its anti-Pakistan rhetoric. The ban on travel — announced by an impetuous railways minister instead of the foreign ministry — is particularly distressing, when we consider the divided families on both sides of the border, and the many Sikh pilgrims who want to visit holy sites on this side of the fence. It is a sure way of playing into the hands of the Modi government that has left no stone unturned to defame this country. As photographs of teary-eyed passenger rs boarding the last Samjhauta Express train in Lahore are circulated, one cannot help but feel sorry for the ordinary people caught in the crossfire. Unfortunately, the railways minister has said the ban will stay as long as he remains in charge of the ministry.

The Thar Express had made it quicker and more convenient for travellers from Sindh to visit the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat, instead of travelling all the way from Punjab, to visit their families and religious sites at a fraction of the cost it takes by air. Now they don’t have that option. The Samjhauta Express had been suspended before, notably after the 2007 bombings. But train services were restored later. For the sake of the people, one hopes that the current suspensions will be of short duration.

Dawn is anti Pakistan newspaper there shouldn't be any type of relations between India and Pakistan

Sir,

With due respect would you kindly point out what is 'anti-Pakistani' in the text and can you refute the argument that Hindutva hardliners always wanted to stop the Samjotha Express and had even bombed it on Feb 18, 2007?

Doesn't it stand to reason that Sh Rashid is doing what Modi & his Hindutva would be pleased about? It is very to dismiss it by saying that 'Dawn' is an anti-Pakistani Newspaper; any rational person should base his declarations on solid arguments.

Sir you cannot clap with one hand. At this point in time Pakistanis would damn care about what Hindutva would or would not think. What matters is what Pakistanis think and we think its high time we stop dealing with this facist regime at all. We continue to expose this Indian nazi at world stage and if push comes to shove a military response should be on the table as well.
You Sir seriously believe that by not doing so we can reach out to the so called liberals or those with a semblance on sanity in India? To your disbelieve even the liberals in India are celebrating this. So why should Pakistan be worried about how this decision will strengthen the hardliners when the recent elections have just proved that hardliners are in majority in India and nothing we will or we will not do will change that.

Or even atheist indians, this blackmailing based on religious BS should be brought to an end.

These so-called divided families between Indian and Pakistan should be kicked to India permanently to live with their "divided relatives" on permanent basis. We don't need people holding "Pakistani nationality" for convenience but have their loyalty with the so-called divided families in india. It is 72 years since Pakistan was established, we shouldn't acknowledge this BS of "divided families" between Pakistan and India after such a long time, no one force these people to come to Pakistan in 1947 and then become "ambassadors" or divided families BS after 72 years , we don't need such people in Pakistan, who knows they might be working as spies of India living in Pakistan and holding Pakistani nationality.
