LONDON: The unofficial bowling action test of Paksitan’s spin maestro Saeed Ajmal in England has been cleared, ARY News reported Wednesday.

Sources said Ajmal could be included in the World Cup squad by February 7 if he sails through the official test in India later this month.

Ajmal had got his unofficial bowling action test conducted on Monday in England, before being proceeded to Chennai, India for an official test on January 24.

Under ICC rules if a bowler fails a reassessment test he does not face any ban but will have to appear for another assessment, the time period for which will be determined by the ICC Bowling Review Group.

According to ICC rules, bowlers are allowed to bend their elbow by up to 15 degrees, beyond which the action is deemed illegal.

The 37-year-old was ranked world number one in one-day internationals when his action was reported during the Galle Test in Sri Lanka in August last year. He was suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) a month later after a bio-mechanical analysis.

Good news,

is it possible to include him in the WC squad even now if he pass the official test aswell?

The real test for a spinner, as they say, is in India :)

Jokes apart, its shocking he was allowed to play all these years.

True.

While Pakistan has produced more quality bowlers than ANY other country, its sad that this fellow was allowed to chuck for so long. If you are a finger off spin bowler, you would know that to bowl a doosra that would spin that much in the other direction, you need to bend your arm and give a proper ''zatka''. Thats clear chucking as per current rules.

not his fault,ICC should be the one's to blame,he was reported in 2011 but passed the test thus a failure in the system(test),i guess the better technology is helping them catch chuckers, maybe.

Not blaming him. ICC is just a bunch of jerks, as they come form national dministrative bodies, who are an even bigger bunch of jerks. Sad state of affairs overall.

I hope he clears the test at chennai too because Pakistanis are blaming India for his ban and If he clears the test I wish he will be included in WC team and then the match between India-Pakistan will be a thriller.
And also India's win will be the slap for Them who are blaming that India was involved in ajmal's ban because of WC match :P
