What's new

Saeed Ajmal BANNED from ICC . He can't play for Pakistan cricket

Lets look at the ODI record shall we?

Since 2000: Pakistan 25 v/s India 23
Since 2005: Pakistan 14 India 17
Since 2010: Pakistan 3 v/s India 6

We are losing more matches to India then we did before 2000. It's because they are continuously improving and we are not.

Not that simple mate.

Pakistan's strength has always been their bowling while India have traditionally relied on their batting to win matches.

The pitches that are being made from the last 5-7 years are as flat as it gets and boundaries smaller and smaller, Pakistan's strength gets taken out of the equation. That is why you are seeing the record in India's favor.

Remember, little bit of seem and swing, and India's batting becomes a house of cards. England have shown that in the recently concluded test series.

An extremely pathetic fielding line (lack of a proper fielding coach such as Jhonty Rhodes), influx of fragile bowlers who break ever so easily (blame the trainers/physios), increasingly bleak line of superb bowlers such as Wasim/Waqar or even excellent bowlers such as Aaquib Javed or fearsome bowlers such as Shoaib Akhtar. And a crucial void of opening batsmen and weaknesses of middle and lower order batsmen!

Actually, I seriously blame the management and selection committee. For example, why did we not play Fawad Alam in the test series against Sri Lanka where he could have been an asset as he proved in the ODI's? And for the love of God, why do they stick with Misbah when none of his performances, either as a batsman or as the captain, won us any matches.....like ever?

Also, our greatest strength has always been our fast bowlers, of which we have not produced in quality of late. But, at the same time, we have also always have had very good spinners such as Mushtaq, Saqlain etc., which we do not have any more.

The management needs to beg Wasim Akram to come back and teach the new generation how to move the ball in the air and off the pitch as well as how to bowl yorkers. I am so frustrated by Waqar Younis, our bowling coach who had a reputation of being a fearsome toe crushing bowler, a bowler whose yorkers were lethal and yet his trainees can not bowl a single yorker? Then what exactly is he teaching them?

We seriously need to invest in our team and if I were the PCB chairman, this is what my coaching team would like:

1. Captaincy and Mental Strength Coach - Steve Waugh
2. Batting Coach - Brian Lara/Martin Crowe or Steve Waugh
3. Spin Bowling Coach - Shane Warne
4. Fast bowling Coach - Wasim Akram
5 Fielding Coach - Jhonty Rhodes
6 - Keeping Coach - Rashid Latif

Don't see any impact from any 15 degree rule on spinning

They generate their variety from their wrist and finger's movements

Most wickets the spinners take is not due to pace but variety of deliveries

If cricketers can , SLOG , with non cricketing shot , why is there rule for spinners and
why can't west Indian bowlers bowl a bouncer like good old day ?

ICC sucks

.
All Vatta chucker bowlers should be banned, these chuckers should better play Baseball which is the perfect game for chuckers

ICC sucks

The University of Western Australia (UWA), whom the International Cricket Council (ICC) relied upon for the last 20 years to develop models to test illegal bowling actions, has raised serious doubts over the reliability of the recent biomechanics tests that have seen several international bowlers suspended from the game.

UWA, which withdrew its services from the ICC in March this year because of a dispute over its intellectual property, claimed the ICC was using their methods 'unsatisfactorily'.

"We have withdrawn our services," Jacqueline Alderson, an associate professor in biomechanics at UWA told ESPNcricinfo.

"We were initially aggrieved by the ICC leveraging our research without our knowledge or permission. However that is now compounded by the lack of transparency surrounding the current testing." In particular, UWA expressed concerns about the monitoring of Ajmal's action after it had cleared the off-spinner in a previous test in 2009.

“Any scientific procedure that can impact on the ability of a player to play the game has to be an independent process and the procedures by which those decisions are made must be open to peer review, and must be available to bowlers and their boards to ensure that process is open and fair. I don’t think it’s in the best interests of cricket.”

Commenting on the issue former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja said the ICC needed to make the procedures behind the tests public otherwise doubts over their reliability would remain.

"It's a new process. The cricket boards are not privy to it. From 15 degrees to 17 degrees...we were told that his [Ajmal's] was a minor fault. Now it's gone up by 100 per cent more. They've got to make the process public," Raja said.
