They are not the first, and will not be the last to profit by selling weapons to both sides of a conflict. The story of how USA became a major economy begins with them selling weapons or other instruments of war to several warring european countries before and during the first world war.

Even today, they offered the F-16s to India that they had given to pak (an advanced version, but stil...). Harpoon missiles serve both IN and PN. Mirages serve with IAF and PAF. Other examples abound, from any major weapon manufacturers.
