S. Korea, India hold first strategic defense talks
SEOUL, Dec. 23 (Yonhap) -- Senior military officials of South Korea and India on Monday held their first strategic dialogue to discuss ways to boost military ties and cooperation in the defense industry, the defense ministry here said.
South Korean Deputy Defense Minister Ryu Je-seung met with his Indian counterpart, A.K. Bishnoi, to share opinions on regional security issues and explore ways to expand defense cooperation, the ministry said.
The meeting took place after the defense ministers of the two nations agreed to regularly hold high-level security consultations to further expand cooperation as this year marks the 40th anniversary of forging bilateral relations.
During the Seoul Aerospace and Defense Exhibition held last month, military officials and businessmen of India and South Korea held meetings to explore ways. ............
