I don't see this as a big shock.
Long Range SAM was always on cards. Either Israeli or Russian.

I don't see a worry for Pakistan untill India gets Russia to stop China from exporting Flankers and HQ9 and series, which is highly unlikely.

India bought it in 2015 when modi went to Russia and it's over then

all these negotiations are bout price and conditions like rafale deal .

Indians negotiators or one of world best . they have both patience and aptitude

the worst and most stupid negociators are of course the arabs

especially the Saudis

they bought 4 US ships with 11.5 billion $ ​

We would not have needed to pay for modifications , training, upkeep and infrastructure developments , which is a big part of present Rafale deal. 5 Billion USD => 45 Rafale more atleast including weapons.

However S400 is a strategic purchase, and its importance is much more than Rafales.
