MOSCOW, (BM) – The Russians claim to have technology that has developed a photon radar that turns fifth-generation fighters with stealth technology into useless fighter jets, he learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing the Night Courier.

In this case, experts say that if this radar is installed, which they believe will happen, the American F-35 and F-22 fighters will not have the necessary effectiveness against Russian weapons systems equipped with this photon radar.

“The United States likes to show off its modern stealth fighters, such as the F-35 and F-22, but in the foreseeable future they will be useless,” said engineers from the Russian concern Vega.

Engineers say they have succeeded in developing phase-active radar thanks to the principles of radiophonics. The prototype has already been tested and, according to a Moscow Komsomol member, is successful.

Active phased array antennas allow the production of radars that are smaller than those currently used by the military. With more modest sizes, their capabilities are much higher. The new technology, as the publication notes, will significantly reduce the size of on-board radars and allow their integration into the skin of the car body. This will increase the field of view of the radar.

Thus, the skills of the future radar to detect fighters equipped with stealth technology take away their main advantage – to be invisible to enemy radars, thus becoming lower-generation fighters.

Earlier this year, Russia introduced another radar that detects stealth technology
The new Russian radar “Struna-1” will not leave a chance to the “invisible” aircraft of the United States and NATO, BulgarianMilitary.com reported in January this year.

The Struna-1 radar trap developed by Russian engineers will make it possible to detect any stealth technology aircraft, which will make US Air Force fighters obsolete, journalists say.

The main technical feature of the Russian radar trap is that the signal transmitter and receiver are in different places, which makes it easy to detect “invisible aircraft”. In addition, the system can find low-flying objects, which could not do the development of previous generations.

Thus, a new radar trap will turn the latest US developments into “obsolete cars,” according to PolitRussia reporters. They cite American journalists, who, in turn, argue that Struna-1, together with other Russian complexes, poses a “significant threat to NATO aircraft.”

Earlier it became known that new types of weapons will be specially developed for Russian fifth-generation fighters Su-57.

Russia’s Rezonans-N radar also detects stealth fighters
The third Rezonans-N radar capable of spotting hypersonic missiles flying at a speed of 20 times the speed of sound and stealth aircraft is ready to assume combat duty on Russia’s Novaya Zemlya Arctic Archipelago, as we reported last year.

“The third Rezonans-N radar in the Arctic has been deployed on Novaya Zemlya. It is turned on and tuned in, has undergone all the trials, has been accepted by the military and is ready to go on combat alert within the Northern Fleet,” Rezonans Research Center CEO Ivan Nazarenko said in November last year.

Until then, the Russian military has received four Rezonans-N radar stations while the fifth is at the final stage of its manufacture. Two radars are already on combat alert, the chief executive said.

The radar’s range makes it possible “to detect aircraft based on stealth technology and hypersonic targets flying at a speed of up to Mach 20,” he added.

How can the Russians say they've made stealth technology useless when they haven't even successfully developed their stealth technology (*ahem* Su-57).

. .
A photon radar would be a LOS radar, not much different than electro optical sensors.

What about the J-20? Ive heard a very phamous indian analyst saying chinese and russian jets have shitty engines and they are nothing compared to American or European Engines.

Whatever, until they shoot down a F-35 over Syria and not keep getting bombed themselves I’ll believe the claim. So far Russian garbage hasn’t been able to show the capabilities its touted to have. The Russians manning their own equipment and not retaliating against Israeli assaults is a humilitation in of itself — what’s point of ally’s when they useless in the field as well.

. .
Had that been the case than the technology would had been kept secret for adverse times or unless other countries started having such tech as well so for now this news of "Russian claim" looks rubbish. Though no disrespect to Russians militarily capabilities and might.

.
I am sure China Russia bith have radars that can detects F22/F35 but no one claimed like this quite frankly. You can cent a wrong vibe to your enemy by claiming such things. No one openely admit hacks and cracks.

Russians are the masters of electronic warfare.
And recent jamming of US jets by China shows they are second to Russians only.

Photon based hmmm that would be a very heavy particle closer to light.

wonder how that would work, maybe it’s a huge flashlight.....

you really think the Su057 is a failed program? its obviously not, as a matter of fact, its proven that its alive and refuses to die, and is apparently worth its hype ...so far....Russia has started serial production of them, just not in large #s...and countries have either ordered or plan to order them..also, radar technology to detect stealth aircraft is a different conversation than developing stealth aircraft technology also..smh..

unlike in past russia is closely monitoring u.s jets like f22 and f35 as they are involved in real battle field of Syria so this claim seems correct

Iran successfully used Russian-made radar to track US F-35 jets — designer
The Rezonans-NE radar has been on round-the-clock combat duty in Iran for several years, according to the deputy CEO of the research center Rezonans

KUBINKA /Moscow Region/, August 24. /TASS/. Russian-made radar Rezonans-NE, which Iran purchased to identify and track stealth aircraft and hypersonic targets, successfully spotted and tracked US F-35 fighters near the country’s borders during an aggravation of tensions at the beginning of 2020 following the death of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, the deputy CEO of the research center Rezonans Alexander Stuchilin told TASS on Monday.

"At the beginning of 2020 this radar identified US F-35 planes and tracked them," he said on the sidelines of the international military-technical forum Army-2020.
Stuchilin said that he was referring to the "well-known events of the beginning of this year."

"The radar’s personnel were transmitting information, including the routes of F-35 flights, in clear, thus confirming that it was reliably tracking the planes. For this reason, the opponent did not commit any irreparable actions that might have caused a big war," Stuchilin said.

He remarked that the Rezonans-NE radar had been on round-the-clock combat duty in Iran for several years.
The situation in the Middle East aggravated sharply after the January 3 US overnight attack near Baghdad airport, which killed the commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, General Qasem Soleimani. Tehran retaliated on January 8 with an overnight missile strike against two targets in Iraq that were being used by the US military: the Ain al-Assad base and Erbil airport.

Electronic warfare is one of Russia's weakest points ... what are you talking about? The US, NATO, and China are all considerably stronger in this regard. You can attribute this to the lack of development in the Russian electronic industry as a whole, which has carried over to the military.

I never said it was a failed program at all ... I'm just saying it lacks critical features that would make it a VLO design.
