Go to the mass grave at jiangdongmen in Nanjing. There are nearly 30000 white bones in the mass grave alone.

After investigation, the military court for the trial of war criminals in World War II ruled that there were 28 cases of collective massacres by the Japanese army, with 190000 people slaughtered; There were 858 sporadic massacres and 150000 deaths, with a total death toll of more than 300000.
How can some non-governmental organizations remaining in the Japanese occupied areas have the correct death figures. The figures from the interrogation of war criminals and the counting of corpses are correct.
You can read Japanese history books from west or those translated from japan, it reveals that there has never been an instance of public execution in Japan since the Meiji Restoration of 1868. In contrast, the Chinese still publicly executed criminals in the 1930s, and some people recorded such scenes with their cameras as shown below , published in Japan in 1938.
the bones and all of those executed must be staked up somewhere? like it's reported all over china. Even if that's 30k white bones, white bones =/= 30k body, that's not 300K massacre as claimed by the memorial. The memorial was created in 1985,the same year the bones were excavated,85 is the year when China actually started pushing the Nanking massacre, there was no such issue in wide-scale before 80s. Mao himself claimed "Japan managed to do nothing in Nanjing".

Interrogation of war criminals? Not even a single Japanese testified for any occurance of massacre in Tokyo Trials.
Even the chief witness, the western figures that fomented the nanking case ,in collaboration with KMT- the likes of -Bates-timperley( He's the one who penned the first monograph accusing the Japanese army of committing atrocities at nanjing, was an adviser to the Chinese Nationalist Party’s [Guomindang (GMD)] central propaganda bureau) -rabe
(he was responsible for Nanking safety zone) testified that they personally never seen any massacre or rape themselves, they all apparently "heard" ,just like US agents hears about forced labour in Xinjiang without personally ever witnessing any forced labour. And those 3 are the orchestrator
No corpse was counted in the scale you are imagining,Nanking would be flooded by dead bodies if 300k bodes were there. Where's 300k corpse of civilians?
Do study more about the nature and protocal of international war and the mission of the foreign NGO and missionaries during war of that era, especially concerning china during civil war era with no sole legimate gov .The NGOs were pivotal in keeping thecivil order during that era.
Just because it's a war and back in 30s,doesn't mean foreign army would simply invade cities, with no warning, and without predetermined security measures for woman and civilians, there's a protocol, otherwise the international press and the rest of the western nations that were circling Japan like Hyena and scrutinizing its every move, would have a field's day.The Nanking war is not like some local warlord attack that was common in China at that time.
Don't ignore the fact that Japan wasn't fighting China whole but only KMT's army, that were left behind, after Chiang kai sek had fled the city while leaving his man as cannon fodder.
Nanking citizens that were anti kmt's dictatorship might as well have welcomed the Japanese(if you think Tsai's gov is bad, imagine KMT's dictatorship in 30s) . Japan had no reason nor the advantage in massacring the Chinese civilians, the Chinese overall weren't the enemy, Japanese themselves were collaborating with Wang Jinwei and Sun Yat sen,the so called father of Modern China had a treaty signed with Japan ,and a massacre of Chinese civilians is self-defeating,and unlike the ideology of Japanese military .
Before the invasion, the civilians were fully informed and Nanking safety zone was created by collaboration of the foreign missions in the city for protection of the civilians.
So your remark indicate the lack of research and proper understanding of the working mechanism and protocols of that era.
Those people responsible for set up and maintaining the Nanking Safety Zone were some of the most relevant people in the international trial. It's their work that helped foment the case about Nanjing massacre.

First of all,Tokyo Trial was an illegal setup , meant to vilify Japan and justify the US actions in pacific. It's not legitimate and has no precedent based on the consistency of any international law. It's hopeless to think you would get a fair trial when it's staged, and hosted by the victor of a war.
The International Military Tribunal for the Far East (Tokyo Trial) used the burial records of about
40,000 bodies by the Red Swastika Society. The Tribunal also used the burial records of 112,267 bodies by the Chung Shan Tang (Tsung Shan Tong), a 140-year-old charitable organization. The combined total was about 155,000 not 200k.
But the issue with Chung Shan Tang 's figure is,the 112,267 number was actually prepared right before for the tribunal many years after the war ended . Imagine preparing civilian casualty figure by Uyghur congress before any Uyghur Tribunal trial? will this be accepted in any serious and fair legal proceeds?
Their burial reports also showed a rather disproportionate number of the bodies buried each month. In the first four month (100 days) they recorded 7,549 bodies, about 75 per day. In the last three weeks in April when they went outside the city walls, however, they claimed to have buried an additional 104,718, about 5,000 bodies per day.
But none of the documents which were written by members of the International Committee in Nanking or the Japanese authorities in Nanking mentioned that the Tsun Shan Tang was engaged in the burial work, they had actually buried no bodies themselves. They came out of nowhere with a 112,267 figure during the trial.
40k figure provide by Red Swastika ,is itself increased from 15k ,which is properly authenticated.
Regarding this picture
This has already been knows as another of those staged/doctored pics from KMT propaganda bureau.
The uniform’s collar is a turned-up collar variant.
The Japanese army issued its ordinance nos. 392-94 to effectuate this change in uniform style on
May 31, 1938, much later than Nanking war. This ordinance was followed by a directive that obliged the army personnel
to keep wearing the old uniform as long as they could. As a result, army documents indicate that the transition from the old uniform to the new one was still in progress that went on till many years late, upto 1939.Hence cannot have been taken in or around Nanking from end-1937.
IMO,we don't know exactly how many civilians died during the war,as far as more reliable fact is concerned it's different ,and I would not base my opinion based on pics ,when it has been proven again and again how they used misleading pics ,film scenes, and that the propaganda bureau of KMT staged photoshoots nor the Japanese would like to have photo op about atrocity before chinese and foreign correspondents, that's such a dumb notion to hold .
I would perfer to just accept what's more realistic .Such political threatre by carrying the western narrative of japanese atrocities and also KMT's pro west propaganda ,is simply towing the US political line about japan ,not fit for the current Chinese stance of anti-US war ideology.I despise US narrative on Japan. That's kowtowing to the west and their narrative for invasion of asia.
