As others have said, this sounds like the mythical Su-35 deal that *Russian* sales people claim is always on the verge of happening but never does. It doesn't make sense for China to have yet another type of diesel electric sub in its fleet. Especially since the Yuan class is being refined and produced in large numbers.

I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on the whole Amur to China thing.

in fact, like the mythical su-35 sale, this rumor too has been going on for years and still we see nothing. its always "it will be sign soon" or "negotiation are almost finish"

Why did they say we would be "given" the sub when we are buying it? We are not like certain basketcases to our south who have to beg for patrol ships and other hand-me-downs.
