well, when I was recruited I decided to go Un-Armed but if I asked for a weapon I'd have got a hand Gun probably a SIG Sauer P226 or P220 or a Caliber 0.38 revolver

Well Russian weapons are cheap easy to assemble comes with no restrictions Russian don't mind even selling it to their arch enemies that's why their small arms make up most of market
