Pakistan and Russia will soon sign a contract in which Russia will modernize T-80 tanks of Pakistan Army.

It will include new improved jet engine better armor and improved gun and targeting system better optics and a lots more stuff.

The talks have been done and contract to be signed soon.

Yes the engine is the test in Russian own modernization program of T-80. Basically it is same engine but improved for better fuel efficiency and horse power.

I don't know the quantity of the tanks or the cost of the modernization package. Russia has made the offer and talks have been done. It is said contract will be signed soon the news will be in media as well in short time.
