Nothing to offer? Russia is a giant in geopolitics, one of permanent UN security council members with veto power, it has one of the top 5 military power, rich in resources, it is also the land bridge between China and Europe. Most importantly, both China and Russia are in antagonistic relationship with the US.

As for past animosity, the west and apparently India are trying to forget that China and Russia have settled their border dispute.

The one relationship that is in question is between Russia and India who is growing closer to the US.

In that case 99.9999% Posts/opinions on this forum and the whole world, including internet are null and void as they are NOT from Govt.. Sources and they do not truely represent "official" stand of their respective Govts.
