What's new

Russia invites Pakistan to invest in Sukhoi Jetliner program.

Well if they plan to use it for J-20, they got to test it now as much as possible. I believe you that they have a prototype for the engine....that still means little about its realised performance.
Or many?

Nope. India - Russia partnership will still be driven with systems like S-400 and beyond...and legacy systems in long term operation and whatever else develops. Not to mention the massive disparity in the overall commercial esp energy relationship.
Ok I get it.

.
I don't want be invited for tea by national security.

Like I said I got no problem believing theres a video somewhere of a prototype being tested. Let it be released as you say on its own time.

Ok, just wait and see. Don't get yourself caught up with one day we reveal it.

I am patient and will not be going anywhere hehe. I just make my comments from where I sit the best I can with information I have, I don't claim to have absolute access to everything.

.
what a news!

This means, if Pakistan wants to get something from Russia, they need to invest.

. .

Sure if you say so. I am referring to an iteration rather than a specific number (its your video, not mine).....you can make a number of them if its past the prototype stage already....say TD stage.

I knew Pakistan bring up the proposal to buy Su35, but finally turned down by Russia. @Nilgiri Russians loving money, but they can't just leave you.

Well they knew selling something like that to Pakistan means they ruin the relationship with India and much more money down the road. So of course its a matter of loving the money long term rather than short term.

.
Well, I think you have misunderstood what I said. If you read my messages, I advocate about participating in all the three programs and then coming up with a solution that is fully geared to address Pakistan's needs. So J31 => yes, TFX => yes and any other option from Russia => yes..
Bro, please bear in mind that the resource for PAF is limited.

They have many times. India was not very interested in it (full scale assembly etc given the risk, commitment and leverage that requires given the established players). Overall for now we prefer to manufacture parts and grow the base level aviation production like we did with automobiles in early 90s....and grow a few small commercial aircraft production centres first....and move to mid size and large size later.

Sukhoi superjet can of course compete in Indian aviation market when they clear the certifications.

The government budget of India it's also limited. Can't just invest in all projects Russian invites you, those imperative ones will come first.

There is an old Chinese saying:有所为,有所不为. Means you don't have to do all the stuffs others ask you to do.

The previous tile: "Russia invites Pakistan to invest in Super Sukhoi fighter jet" really shock me!

Hit the nail in the head folks. This is problem here on PDF, people take things in absolute terms.

Look at these examples, Turkey downed Russian plane, did Russia stopped selling gas to Turkey, nope. Ukraine asked Americans to give them Javelin to fight Russian backed forces in Crimea, US did not oblige, even though they put sanctions on Russia. The recent examples, US informing Russians from cruise missiles attacks in Syria.

Even going back to WW2, Japanese thought about sending weather balloons filled with biological warfare material to US but decided against it, as they were worried about US retaliation also, even they did that to Chinese for allowing the US bombers to land on their soil as China was weak at that time. Read about rotten leg diseases if you want to know more about this.

Russia or any country does not give a rats arse to others, its all about money or how much they gonna lose if they decided to help Pakistan out.

I would rank the big 3 as follows: GE > PW > RR
I wolud like to know more about your reasons on why did your rate them like that. Because Rolls Royce is better than GE as far as A/C engines are concerned while GE has a bigger market in power generation.

@war&peace Get a filter on those brain to mouth stuff before you calling China tech infancy, I've done with you quite a lot.

It's not my problem you put your eggs in 10 basket, but it's my problem when you insult my country is good for nothing. What's wrong with you? I mean Russia is still the biggest arms suppliers to your enemy India! The T90 tanks, the Akula SSN, the Su30MKI, even S400 SAM and Brahmod middles . Who the mother fucker is your ally? China or Russia! I openly challenge you idiot.
It is always good to speak the truth and as it keeps the person grounded to the reality. In Pakistan we have democracy and we are very open to criticism on even our government that's my opinion based on the facts...take it or leave it..you are not in a position to dictate me on what I say. If you have difference of opinion argue with fact.
Show me a field of fundamental science in which China is ahead of Europe or Russia...

@war&peace apology for my previous impulsive. Don't take it personal.

Behind USA, I say yes. Behind Russia, negotiable.

No problem mate , I love China and its friendship with Pakistan and I love my country Pakistan too :china::pakistan::smitten:
but the love of my country should not make me blind to the ground realities for example...there is a lot of corruption in my govt, there are problems of poverty, energy issues, lack of development...and I admit that my country has those issues but it does not reduce my love for my country...it just makes me struggle for improvement.
China and Pakistan have been friends through thick and thin times and I'm sure they will continue to do so in foreseeable future and develop together and I'm really happy the way China is investing in Pakistan in infrastructure for CPEC which will be mutually beneficial.

None of my remarks was meant to hurt you or any other Chinese friend. But the fact remains that still there is a long way to go and normally what I appreciate about Chinese is that they are humble and grounded people and that is a very positive attitude. Unlike some of our "friends" in east who already think that they are a superpower since 10000 years and everything have been invented by them

Too much of it, if it's not due to my poor English.

I doubt the credibility of the news but if true than its a step worth taking as russia doesnt offers pakistan much in its strategic affairs.

Good to know :-) and I'm happy to see this :)

But are the processors used in those supercomputer developed by China?

Domestic FT1500 CPU, USA embargo the Intel CPU. I always think embargo is the best thing to China, so that we work on our own.

We have vast talents pool in house and coming back from the west.

I think Chinese are the backbones of the R&D in basic science in USA ?

Due to language barrier, your access to Chinese technology breakthrough is very limited. my suggestion: Learn some Chinese and read Chinese source.

Now that's what I call real development. These are the areas where we need to combine our talents and resources for mutually development.
