Not that the Russians deserve our sympathies, but the decision to ban Russia from International sports defeats the spirit of sports at large. This decision reeks of strong political elements that are contrary to the reasons we indulge in games in first place....More regressive to sporting events is this political point scoring, a practice that has become a norm; using sports to subdue a rival state in a political arena is something that needs to be discouraged by the International community. Pakistan too has had to face similar situation all thanks to it's conniving enemy sitting on it's East.

This ban does the opposite of defeat the spirit of sports at large. Russia's cheating in sports defeated the spirit of sports at large and this is corrective action against that. simple.
