Russia also not to deploy polls observer

Dhaka: Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander A Nikolaev informed the Election Commission that his country will not deploy election observers for the farcical January 5 polls.

The Russian diplomat held a half-an-hour meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad at the latter's office at 3pm on Thursday.

“Everything remains closed during the holidays in Russia. That is why they will not send observers,” Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad told reporters.

Earlier, European Union, Commonwealth and the US have declared that they would not send observers if the election is not held in a transparent, non-violent and inclusive manner.

“Everything remains closed during the holidays in Russia. That is why they will not send observers,”

The reasoning is just hysterically epic.

 I like their reasoning on how they could care less about Bangladesh....after all the offshore blocks, weapon and nuke deals haseena gave them.

It seems the arms and nukes deal is up in the air. @mb444 @Loki

Any way I don't think any country apart from India would send observers no matter how many block of oil/gas u give.

All the money Hasina, Joy, Rehana and their family moved to Russia and Belarus are at risk now. I have a feeling after knowing Awami League genocidal acts, Russia bailed out and Belarus will have second thought safeguarding looted money.India is true partner and instigator of Awami League crimes.

Now remains India, one & only, to extend its hand of friendship like they did back in '71 and oblige us thereby.

Correction oblige Awami League (NOT us as Bangladeshis) and that is why indian dalal Awami League should not allowed politics in Bangladesh.

The reasoning is just hysterically epic.

Indeed :D

Though, I find it surprising since the Russians are known to get straight to the point.

And since when were the Russians election observers? I find the whole thing surprising....

It seems the arms and nukes deal is up in the air. @mb444 @Loki

The jet deal with the Russians is dead. The nuke deal may suffer the same blow. I suspect that their MiG experience was not very good during the previous AL government. It was riddled with corruption, and later reduced their order from 16 to 8.

Military jets aside, imagine a nuclear matter in the heist of rampant corruption, and utter disregard for technicalities. The Russians will never take any risks in this matter. Be they financial or technical.

Inshallah Bhutan will send observers and help BAL complete the socialist revolution....Joy BANG.....I mean BAKSHAL!

Hopefully, the Martians will send election observers. Inshallah...

Yes, not only does Bangladesh need foreign observers to hold 'credible' elections, but also intergalactic and space-faring observers. Yes, we are in the intergalactic spotlight.

Yak-130 is 'best' or not was not the question. Go back and read.

Oh, I've read it.

And as I said before in that particular thread, it was a discussion about military hardware. Not politics.
