?????????? ??????? ???? ?????? ????? - ????? ???

Runner antomobiles will start exporting motorcycles to India and Nepal from 2013 onwards under “Runner” brand name. China’s dayang motors will provide technical help in manufacturing and R&D.:yahoo: They started with marketing Chinese brands in 2000 and later moved on to assembling and some parts manufacturing with the setting of factory in maymenshing. Currently its is producing 200motorcycles/day from that facility which is expected to go up to 300000/year by 2015. According to MD Shafiquezzam , majority of the parts are manufacted by Runner except for the engine which has to be imported.

(Sorry I didn’t find Daily star or BDnews reporting it)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Add to that we also have walton which is much more experience and advanced than Runner in producing motorcycles. And the interesting thing is that these companies are hardly getting any gov support from these dalal regime. They are doing very well under competition from Indian companies. If they had proper gov support they could have done wonders.

I don't think Runner make automobiles. They are distributors of Eicher Motors of India and Foton Motors of China in BD. May be they are re-exporting Foton Motors vehicles to India

Bangladesh can even make a Bike?

Walton BD produces good quality bikes. They are new in producing bike so, it will take some time. I can still remember what Bajaj & Hero made before 10years ago. So, In this sense Walton is doing just fine...

Found the Daily Star article on this:

Runner plans to export motorcycles next year

Runner Automobiles Ltd, a concern of the local Runner Group, intends to export motorcycles from the middle of next year.

Its potential markets include the north-eastern states of India, Nepal and some African countries.

The company yesterday signed an agreement with China's Dayang Motorcycles Ltd for technical support for the next 10 years.

Runner, which started assembling motorcycles at its plant at Bhaluka in 2007, will start designing its own motorcycles in 2014, said Hafizur Rahman Khan, the chairman of Runner Automobiles Ltd, at the agreement signing ceremony.

For the local market the company will use the brand name of Dayang-Runner, while for overseas markets it will be the brand name of Runner, Khan said.

Annually, Bangladesh imports motorcycles and spare parts worth $300 million, and according to Khan, the demand is on a steady rise.

“If our plant can start designing and manufacturing of motorcycles, the country will be able to save the dollars,” he said.

At present, the company produces 200 motorcycles a day, with plans to hit the three lakh-mark motorcycles annually from 2015.

The company currently manufactures headlights, backlights and other parts of a motorcycle, and has plans in place to manufacture motorcycle seats and chains as well.

In 2011 the company sold a total of 48,000 pieces of motorcycles in Bangladesh, Mamunur Rashid, Runner's head of sales, revealed.

Annually, a total of 3.5 lakh pieces of motorcycles are sold in the country, according to Rashid, with the growth of motorcycles business year-on-year in Bangladesh being 25 percent.

Runner has a 15 percent market share of the motorcycle market in Bangladesh, while the market leader Uttara Motorcycle which sells the Indian Bajaj-branded motorcycles has a 35 percent market share.

Rashid predicts the sales of motorcycles will be low in 2012, with the sales figure to be around the region of 2.5 lakh cycles.

“We need a long-term policy support from the government for the growth of motorcycle industry in the country,” said Khan.

The newly-appointed State Minister for Industries Omor Faruk Chowdhury said the country needs more than one industrial policy.

“We also need regional industrial policy,” he added.

Liu Botao, chief executive officer of Dayang Motorcycles, said the agreement heralds a new era of cooperation between the two companies.

Runner Automobiles started its business as a distributing company of Dayang Motors with only Tk 1.5 crore paid-up capital in 2000.

In 2011, the company won recognition from the government as a full-fledged manufacturing plant on 100 bighas in Bhaluka, employing 500 people.

Runner so far was mainly involved in assemblying along with distribution of Eicher and Foton. But they plan to design their own bike from 2014. Walton have their design and has a much more advance manufacturing ability than runner but engine and some other components come from abroad. BTW walton also plans to manufacture Cars and Pickups from 2015.

Just like all previous cases india will impose tariff and barrier on this item as well. These companies better use their effort for different market.

I think runner being relative new in this field is using India and nepal as a test bed before going for higher markets in ME.;) Walton already exports to ME and are planning to export large capacity refrigerators to europe. But the best thing for us would have been to increase tariff/ permanently ban Indian bikes in this country. But dalal gov won't do it.

You have done a great dis-service to the Indian posters. The photos of our products above may cause faint and even death of protein non-eating Indians. You may be accused by the GoI of conspiring to kill these thin bodied and feeble minded Indians.

If Walton and other Chinese rebranded Bangladeshi bikes are so good, how come they don't sell much in Bangladesh?
