More robot warriors are entering the arsenal of the Chinese military, with the latest additions being a small model that's equipped with a machine gun and a crane-like missile-loading robot, and experts said on Tuesday that robots will free human soldiers from heavy physical work and unnecessary danger.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) is in possession of the small ground robot, which can traverse complicated terrains, accurately observe battlefield situations and provide ferocious firepower, the PLA Eastern Theater Command said on Sina Weibo on Monday when reposting a China Central Television (CCTV) report on the robot.

The thigh-high robot looks like a small assault vehicle. It walks on tracks similar to a tank, allowing it to adapt to complicated terrains in open field combat, move quickly and climb stairs, CCTV reported.

Equipped with a machine gun, and observation and detection equipment including night vision devices, the robot can replace a human soldier in dangerous reconnaissance missions, the report said. Target practice results showed the robot has acceptable accuracy, and the use of weapons still requires human control.

New robot warriors joining the Chinese military have gradually become the norm, CCTV said.

The PLA Rocket Force is receiving a large, crane-like robot that can be used in lifting and loading missiles onto transporter erector launchers, enabling more missiles to be launched from the same launcher within short intervals, CCTV reported on Sunday.

A conventional crane is less steady and requires human assistance when loading missiles, but the robot solves this problem, CCTV reported.

Unmanned systems will gradually free human soldiers from heavy physical work and extreme danger and let them focus on making combat decisions and carrying out technical and tactical movements, a military expert who asked not to be identified told the Global Times on Tuesday.

Combat robots may attract more public attention, but support robots like the one the Rocket Force is using are also important to the military's overall combat capability, the expert said.

This is an optic-electronic integrated detector, which can horizontally rotate in all direction and pitch in a certain range. The detector has two lens, one to detect in daytime and the other installed with infrared night vision for night operation. So it means this detector can probe and identify targets within one kilometer range in all weather, day and night.

This mini unmanned ground platform moves thanks to its rubber tracks in forward or backward and in all-terrain conditions. The vehicle is highly maneuverable and flexible because of its mini size and track, and can cross small ditches, slight slopes and even climb stairs.

You do realise NATO is fighting with its hands tied behind its back right? It can march into any village and wipe it all out if it wanted to. Not all countries fight with their hands tied behind their backs.

You don't understand the concept of this robot. don't you?
This robot main purpose is not to win the war campaign. (There are many factors to win a war campaign, and thats another duscussion)



This robot purpose is to minimize the casualties rate in your troops.

Let say in a battle, your troops successfully kill 100 of this robot with 100 loses troops in your side.
But still, thats a defeat for you.
Because tomorrow they can produce another 1,000 to overcame the losses in yesterday battle.
Meanwhile you need at least 6 months to give basic training only, to your new recruits for them to be ready to deploy in frontline combat.
Unless your troops doesn't need training, because you are typical commander who love human wave soviet style tactic in WW2

They will be air covered with swarms of drones in the above, I don't think they'll do operations all by themselves.

How is that advantage compare to human solider if solder have their foot shot or leg shot? AS some mention, this robot are designed not to work along. Definitely a drone is on top providing data of enemy position. These ground robot with machine gun will in to neutralize the sniper. These robot are mechanical stabilize, meaning they become sharp shooter immediately. These robots will work well in urban battle.

China is the runway leading producer of both robots and drones, so we'll see China build a vast future army made of robot soldiers and drones.
