I am not talking now..i am talking 20-50 years into the future..just imagine this scenario..Pakistan's population has exploded, there are now close to 300 million people. Severe climate change has resulted in drastic water reduction from the Indus. Pakistan facing mounting insurgency by Islamic radicals, total economic collapse launches another covert strike a la Mumbai, this time the casualties in India are catastrophic, 1000s dead. The pressure to India to respond is overwhelming, India launches strikes on designated targets. Pakistan seeing that it has nothing left to lose preemptively nukes India. This is scenario i don't wish to play out.

Look i am just being pragmatic...why don't we hold out the possibility of a referendum in Kashmir on the question of Independence out as a carrot for Pakistan. Only if Pakistan dismantles all its terrorist groups, stops cross border infiltration, opens its borders to trade, gives us MFN, allows us to build pipelines to Iran and run them for a period of 10 years without interruption can we even discuss the issue of referendum.

As i said it is A NON STARTER

Pakistan is very WEAK as compared to India

We have NOT bent before CHINA who claims Arunachal Pradesh
so the question of bowing to Pakistani demands just does not arise

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said that a resolution of the Kashmir issue is imperative for long-lasting peace in South Asia


Addressing a function on Kashmir Solidarity Day on Sunday, the information minister said the resolution would bring prosperity in the region, pulling people out of illiteracy and poverty.

He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right to self-determination

The information minister urged India to fulfill their former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s promise of a referendum in Kashmir.
“…India cannot become part of the UN Security Council until it fulfils pledges made by Nehru,” he said.

Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also spoke on the occasion, and urged the international community to play its role in helping resolve the Kashmir dispute

Good to know that you have open borders for them. Yet I don't see people lining up at border posts. If we were such cruel people you would have seen exodus of people like you saw during 1971 in east Pakistan. Some 10 million people crossed over to India because of excess committed by your army. Many Hindus did not return back after Bangladesh was formed. Pakistan and Bangladesh still do not treat their minorities right. You would assume that you guys have learned the lessons of history, but alas when I see balochistan, Karachi, Sindh it is same drama being repeated again.

Your minorities are declining at a rapid rate and our minorities are growing in numbers. You had 26% Hindus during partition and now it is less than 2%. It is same in Bangladesh.
