Difference is that Muslim went to those countries, built mosques there and have freedom to practice their religion. Don't bring today's example, It's fault of Muslims who miss used the freedom and equality given started demanding Sharia, separate laws etc. etc. - If i was Christian of those country, i would be having same sentiments for Muslims as well.

Now, Pakistani Christians didn't came from somewhere else and started making demands like Muslims do in western countries, they are son of soil and should have every right to build cross or churches.

My only worry is that this will become a target for terrorists to strike. If this cross makes the Christians in our country happy then so be it but at the same time I feel that it might be inviting trouble where things have been relatively peaceful so far.

U r wrong Sir, Will the 20ft cross gurantee that there would be no suicide attacks on Churches like the one in Lahore & Peshawar. No way,these type of cosmetic measures won't bring any comfort to Pakistan's christian community. Read The Op where the donor Parvez Henry Gill says “I agree that minorities have problems here and that is why some of them are migrating,” he admitted. “But this [cross] will build show that [attacks on minorities] are not the only thing happening in Pakistan.” What is this,What does the donor Parvez Gill intend to say,I find it very hard to comprehend. When minorities r facing problems,when there r attacks on them they r bound to migrate irrespective of whether u install the cross or not.

Is the menarate's length is shown as a symbol of islam, this would go otherwise. As Switzerland and Austria have already banned the menarates in their countries while in Pakistan they r going to build asia's largest cross.....LOL This only happens in Pakistan.

Pakistani Christians are Pakistanis. They can live however they want. Nothing to do with the Swiss or the Austrians, the majority of whom are just cultural christians. Don't blame PAKISTANI christians for the actions of some foreign cultural christians.

we do and must, what ever happens in the christian world effects us here too. If christians cant keep their minorities happy then we also have the right to atleast not build something as extra ordinary as this.

If the Muslims weren't happy in Europe they wouldn't be living here in their millions nor moving here in their thousands.

I do have my reservations but I feel that that they have the freedom to do so and so they should be allowed. If anyone's got a problem with it invest in Pakistan and build skyscrapers.

Why does anything bring comfort? I'm not educated in psychology to give you a proper understanding, but there is a science behind it.

It is true that safety and security need to be improved, as well as employment opportunities as well, and these are already happening as we speak. Having said that, these issues take time to resolve, it won't happen over night.

gujarat massacre happening in 2002 which was a accidental voilence,what's happening in Pakistan is regular voilence .for eg suicdie attacks against Shias r happening every fortnight (15days). There is no full stop,only comma. The recent ones are Peshawar(Hayatabad), Rawalpindi,Shikarpur(Sindh),Karachi,Gilgit.What about the Peshawar carnage,What about the attacks on Ahmedias & Hazaras who r demanding asylum in other countries. U have Pakistani Hindus from Sindh demanding asylum in India.There is no need to bring Guajrat,more ppl are dying in Pakistan every year due to bomb blasts,suicide attacks,sectarian & political voilence. I have read in Dawn newspaper recently more then 50,000 ppl have died due to war on terror.

Minorities are doing great in India. They can eat anything they like. For example a beef burger.
