What's new

Removing ‘except Israel’ in new passport doesn’t mean Bangladesh’s position changed: Momen

No we dont have such thing like "except Israel" in our passport. Actually Indonesian can visit Jerusalem (under Israel occupation), both Muslim and Christian spiritual tourist visit both Aqsa Mosques and Christian site every year

maybe its a personal question , but what is your opinion of General Suharto ? and what the Average Indonesian think of him and Sukarno ?
i myself admire Sukarno much more due to his anticolonial struggle against Dutch and his vision to develop his country.

A passport carries someone's identity, he said, adding that "Your passport is used for confirmation of your identity when you go abroad."

"You can travel anywhere if you have visa of that country," he said.

If this is the case then who suggested to write ,"Exceot Israel" . What was the necessity? To show that we are far from international standard?

So now we have to maintain our international standard by removing the line?

Or Pakistan used the same sentence and that's why Bangladesh maintained the lines?

If not then what was the reason. Valid reason will be accepted , no lame excuse.

In short Soeharto is recognized as the father of development and Soekarno and Muhammad Hatta as Proclamator. Indonesian people respect both of them despite admitting some weakness during their time.

Unlike Arab leaders, Soeharto do resign to let democracy starts, so Indonesian in general dont have bad judgement on him.

Here when he died, the media makes good comment about him as one of the best son of Indonesian and the information about his death is informed directly by our President during that time, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)

Yup Soekarno is wellknown of his struggle during independence war, but it is actually a collective efforts of so many Indonesian leaders and heroes, even long before Soekarno was born

Basically, the position hasn’t changed now but if the Indian state instructs(and bribes) the vassal government of BD to do so it will eventually.

It's not India. India is irrelevant in this case. No wonder Indians are crying in twitter on why Zionist Bibi didn't put India's flag in his tweet.

This entire campaign is being driven by UAE with the blessing of US and Israel. The other Arab countries are in alignment too. Bangladesh has a lot of expats in UAE and the middle east, and this is being used as leverage to force Bangladesh to fall in line.

The BD Government of course knows that they cannot outright recognize Israel, without facing massive backlash at home. Hence they have begun this transition. Unfortunately, in 2-3 years the Zionists will succeed in their nefarious agenda.

i also feel its childish to do so i hope Pakistan Govt also act Maturity and stop giving so much importance to Israel and at the same time have no diplomatic relations lol.
I think we should not put the name israel on our passport, instead just write its valid for all countries except the unrecognized ones. We should not give them attention by naming them.
true that is also practical and i guess passports are only valid for recognized ones we can add recognized by Pakistan on it.

A passport is not a tool for foreign policy.

Good, pious Muslims from all over the world visit Israel every day and their passports are irrelevant.

These unnecessary words in the passport, only restrict Bangladeshi civilian rights, they have zero foreign policy impact.

That is why, one should never become so much influenced of India like that.

Bangaladesh doesn't need to remove it, unless it is trying to impress "some country". Bangladesh claimed that its position hasn't change is just damage control, Its always been money, leaders are often bribed covertly, especially its leadership is corrupt and its country poor.

I heard these theories that KSA was trying to send the Rohingyas to Bangladesh as a blackmail to force it to recognize Israel. Now seems quite plausible.

Eventually these Arab sell outs will force other non Arab Muslim nations to bow down through indirect pressure using these economic leverages and fall in line to recognize Israel.

Countries which will resist, they will employ other covert tactics. Like increased false flag terror ops, election manipulation and coups.

It's now just a matter of when the Zionists succeed to get recognition from the Muslim world, through the works of their loyal dogs.

You are giving way too much undue credit to India in this particular case. The problem is within the Muslim Ummah.
