Religions in China should serve Communist Party, says govt white paper

Pew 2015 Global Attitude Survey: "The Importance of Religion in People's Life" by country. Find your own country in the following chart.

There are more than 3% of Chinese population who follow some form of religion but the key phrase is "importance in their lives". It is only one aspect of their lives. Due to many functions of religious institutions being redundant due to a competent state, the importance of these institutions erodes, though still existing as a spiritual element for some. People practices it as a support function to their normal lives, they don't live for religion or its institutions, though some its values are good. Their lives are occupied by desire for uplifting their standard of living.

Are you implying that the CCP doesn't know anything and it's simply 'distorting' and taking away religious 'freedom' to satisfy its insatiable desire to hurt people? Are you one of those 民运 clowns who preach reverse racism and want China to be subservient forever?
no, what I meant was that CCP don't know everything, especially religions, despite their claim to know the truth.

@Dungeness you still think he's Chinese?
这人已经完全被奴化了。
This guy is entitled to his own opinions, however ridiculous they are.

Well clearly you seem like someone who knows "everything" about religion. Please enlighten us!

This mentality is reasonable because communists never understand religions. So they treat religions, like everything else, as material objects they manipulate to serve their own want.

I agree. Clearly they don't understand religion. What a great way to create social discord at a crucial time in thier own development.

Having said that, I suspect this is likely to be misinformation being spread. You can't trust Indian and western media with China related news.

there u go.

hence, why it's the opposite.

The CCP is enlightened about religion too well and not the other way round that u are suggesting.

Basically, the CCP is telling its people to love their own country and not 'god'. The CCP(aka Government) will be the 1 putting bread on the table- not 'god'.

simple. we have different experience, thus different opinions. we don't have to convince each other. religion is too big a subject to discuss thoroughly here.

atually, u've reached the same conclusion as me- just via opposing aspects.

that is why they sometimes make blunt comments that make religious people aghast, such as prohibiting Dalai Lama from reincarnation.

even people in the same religion oppose each other.

that is possible, too. but CCP's insincerity towards the freedom of belief is so genuine that things like that is not unexpected.

im saying i agree with u that the CCP treats religion as a materialistic aspect of life- and that's because it indeed is- religion is just an artificial concept invented by the human brain.

And that's not because the CCP 'doesnt understand religion' as what u've claimed- but rather- it's simply because they understood it too well that they know the indulgence in religion is a HUGE stumbling block to societal progression.

We are the lowest because we don't have our religion, I think either we should merge all region around the world and make one of our own within our nation, if any other foreigner "who ever believe on our religion are entitle to be call Chinese".

It has been a traditional policy since 3000 years ago.religion in china must serve china goverment. Buddhism was destroyed 4 times in the past (in North Wei danasty,North Zhou danasty,Tang danasty and Hou Zhou danasty)due to it hurt the interest of china goverment.

actually CCP doing far worse than its predecessors.CCP should totally ban islam and christianity.those whom do not abandon their religion belive should be expelled or excuted:sniper:CCP itself should be overthrowned by chinese people.
