If these threats are so imminent, why are Pakistan’s attack helicopter and associated engine supplies blocked? Pakistan, through much sacrifice, was able to deal with the 2009 TTP threat in part with attack and transport helicopters. This general should be an advocate for Pakistan’s helicopters and engines to be released ASAP, if the threat to Pakistan is as he says it is.
Pakistan has a professional Military that not only knows the physical terrain but knows the human terrain and how best to work with its own citizens. The best thing the US can do is release the CSF and allow Pakistan to pickup excess defense articles to meet the threat as it sees fit; MRAPs with flir turrets, remote weapons systems/auto-cannon and shotspotters, used F-16s for CAS (and associated PGMs and targeting pods), C-130s, AH-1, UH-1, AH-6, small arms, Intel equipment (ISR assets like drones and long range thermal/IR cameras), comms gear, NVGs, precision missiles and rockets to take out enemy forces by ground troops like the Javelin and SMAW, Strykers, LAV-25 and Bradleys if the US is retiring them, 155 mm artillery, excess ammo & spares for all above, etc.
