Only 1 % people hold black money; why are the other 99% being harassed for this: WB CM Mamata Banerjee
Yeah the whinersAhh the whiners are back with a bang !!
The system should have been a bit more full proof I agree. For example, many have exchanged Rs.4000 multiple times from different banks because there had been no instant verification. People will suffer for a while, that is understandable but isn't it a good thing that people who never paid taxes are forced to burn their notes and Mamata Banerjee has nothing else to do other than rolling on streets, provoking people without any result? On the face of it, this appears to be a good step, assuming the govt has done proper cost-benefit analysis before taking such a drastic measure. If the positives from this outweigh cost of production of new notes (plus the cost of old ones wasted), decrease in domestic consumption for a period, public inconvenience, especially of the poor class, then it is a good step. Even then this should have been implemented in a more efficient manner. It appears to me that the govt did not fully understand the magnitude of this and acted in haste. Right now it is a chaos, let's see how long it takes before things settle down. If things don't get better for the poor soon, Modi ji's surgical strike on opposition may actually backfire.

Banks are exchanging old currency notes with new ones I don't see him complaining about banks refusing him.
Mate, it is not about exchanging the notes, it is about inadequate planning by the government when undertaking this plan and I can literally post many such videos and news articles where the middle class and poor have suffered. No one here is denying it to be a good move but it lacked serious planning or implementation.Banks are exchanging old currency notes with new ones I don't see him complaining about banks refusing him.

Infact BJP was against it when UPA wanted to do something similar...

Well the changes were decided to be made with in last 6 monthsI doubt there was lack of serious planning but yeah implementation could have been better especially recalibration of ATMs machines.

Even UPA wanted to introduce the new notes to get rid of black money as noted in my previous post.Oh come on these two are totally different incidents, UPA wanted to withdraw currency notes printed prior to 2005 not demonetize them and introduced new ones,
Yet there are many who don't have access to banking system...plus Jan Dhan Yojna has added a decent amount of poor people with the banking system which was absent during UPA times.
Haram ka khane wale, dusro se chheen ke khane wale itne hi desperate hai. For those who say it hurts poor more, what can hurt poor more than people hoarding crores and tax evading like they are kings?most of these guys converted rupees into dollars
2000 note and rolling back of old 500 & 1000 has no link. Many people knew about 2000 note before 8th.
