We have made a few changes to the promotions criteria

Fresh members: All New registrations
Full Members: 100 posts, (unspecified) number of days registered
Senior Members: 2000 posts, (unspecified) number of days registered
Elite Members: 10000 posts, (unspecified) number of days registered

We have not revealed the number of days required to deter the drive for quantity over quality.

Promotions have been made harder as seniority is a big factor taken into consideration before administrative actions are employed upon people.

Hence newer members will have to work harder, will have to show that they are quality material, they are not here to flame and troll or any other sort of point scoring, before they survive onto the next rounds. Of course, no one is immune from the really bad booboos no matter who they are.

It is inherently unfair to implement the new promotions requirements for those who have registered before 10/29/2010. These new requirements should only be effective to those who register AFTER 10/29/2010. The ones who have registered before 10/29/2010 should be "grandfathered" under the old promotion rules. It is unorthodox do so otherwise.

This is a valid argument and it is not of the norm to implement the new requirements for members who have registered before 10/29/2010 when the new rules took effect.

1.) If somebody hits 2,000 posts then the Admins could say well its now 3,000 posts before you become Senior Member

2.) If Webmaster says no one will be deomoted then those who registered before 10/29/2010 should be governed under the old rules otherwise those who do not have the current requirements to meet the new promotions should be demoted to their respective ranks under the "new rules." This is only fair.

The system doesn't work that way and at the moment the new tweaks have worked like a charm at curbing a lot of nonsense.
