Raped in Chitrakoot: Minor girls forced to trade bodies for Rs 150-200 daily during lockdown
About 700 km from the national capital in Uttar Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region is Chitrakoot. Here, minor girls from poor tribal families are forced to trade off their bodies in exchange for their meagre wages.

In independent India, rampant poverty is one of the worst forms of tortures and living in poverty is a curse. Just toiling hard to make ends meet is not enough. In exchange for a few morsels of food and some money, the powerful and the wealthy don’t hesitate to trade off young girls and sexually exploit them.

This is hell on earth.

About 700 km from the national capital in Uttar Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region is Chitrakoot. Here, minor girls from poor tribal families are forced to work in illegal mines for survival but the contractors and middlemen don’t pay them their wages easily. These girls have to trade off their bodies in exchange for their meagre wages.

Poverty here is so entrenched that at an age when children ideally spend their time playing merrily and attending school, these girls have to shoulder their family’s responsibilities and contribute to the household income.

Aged 12-14 years, these girls work in illegal mines where their contractors and middlemen force them to sell their bodies for a meagre daily wage of Rs 200-Rs 300.

India Today TV visited Chitrakoot to unearth the unholy nexus of money and sexual torture.

Soumya (name changed), a resident of Karvi village says when they go to the mines seeking work, the contractors agree to employ them on the condition that they will also have to sell their bodies.

It is absolutely heart breaking and horrifying to see what we humans do to our fellow human beings. These kind of situation arises from lack of governance and poverty which forces these minor to be the victims of this horrible crime.

Dear Pakistan, please please, whatever the fk happens between me and you or between your army and the Indian army or even between now and the end of time, promise me one thing - you will one day nuke this country to kingdom come and put these young girls out of their wretched misery, so that they may close their eyes and sleep soundly in the knowledge that their tormentors have been instantly vaporised.

Business as usual in Hindustan.

Also if anyone failed to notice, it's ultimately a CASTE thing. The girls are from low-caste or outcaste tribal communities of the most backward region in Uttar Pradesh, one of the most backward states of India.

Their people are treated as untouchables by Manuvadi upper-caste contractors and businessmen. Except of course, these girls are in their prime, so the rules of untouchability don't apply to them.

SICK SICK SICK society India has always been. I support the liberation of the poor and marginalized of India, by any means necessary. If it requires the involvement of China, Pakistan, Russia, USA whatever, I don't care. This is an urgent crisis. India needs a social reengineering along the lines of PRC's Cultural Revolution.

South Asia is worst for women including Pakistan and India.

Being an Indian and south Asian, it's a shame.

True South Asia is the worst but at least Pakistan does not have India's sick caste system. So your comparison with Pakistan on this issue is meaningless.

India represents the absolute gutter in terms of human suffering. As long as Indians continue to support Manuvadi caste system, this barbarianism will remain unchallenged. Also, if you voted BJP, you have helped in prolonging the suffering of these poor girls of the most vulnerable downtrodden castes. BJP represents a Manuvadi, Brahmin-vadi, regressive 18th century mindset. There's not a single progressive leader in their ranks.

Any other political party in India would be an improvement over BJP because at least they give lip service to the eradication of the caste system in India. However, BJP does not even bother with that much. They very much believe in preserving India's status quo of exploiting the downtrodden castes and tribes.

go enquire about the poor boys who work in mines of Balochistan .

you want to liberate poor girls from sexual exploitation with help of your pakistan ? do you know what happens with under age boys who work in mines of Balochistan ?

One wrong don't make another right. Didn't they teach you that in India school?

These are blessing of caste based system where rich and upper caste enjoyed lock down in luxury whereas poor suffered. All those stupid morons who were asking for Lockdown in Pakistan should slap their faces at least a thousand times. I am glad that we had Imran Khan at helm during this crisis. Had it been Nawaju or Mr 10% they would have ordered a complete lock down without a second thought for poor.

And when did you visit the "mines of Balochistan" to witness such things?
I am surprised that some sanghi from india knows more about "Balochistan" than Pakistanis.

Let's not make this political.

This is just sad to see, grave crimes like this must be eradicated if the region is to develop.

Concerted effort is required but so far it seems no government is really bothered with child sex abuse, they're busy lining their pockets.

...and we get lectured about our women being sold as brides to Chinese men.

It is an unforgivable crime. It destroyed the relationship between the two nations. China needs to execute those people.
