Rangers refuse to accept sweets from Indians - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

LAHORE: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) offered sweets to Pakistan Rangers on Monday to mark their country’s Republic Day but the latter refused to accept them, sources said.

The refusal to accept the sweets is aimed at making it clear that Pakistan Rangers are unhappy with the indiscriminate firing and shelling the BSF has been resorting to along the border, according to the sources.

The firing and shelling have left a number of people dead.

This is the first time that sweets offered by the BSF have been refused.

I don't know why either of the countries persist with these photo ops. Enough of this stupidity, there can never be camaraderie and bonhomie between India and Pakistan, so lets stop kidding ourselves shall we!.

.
Maybe the rangers were fasting.......or dieting......they can refuse anything in that case.

they are diabetic

Kill our soldiers after calling them to flag meeting.
Offer sweets later.

Doesn't cut it anymore!

those were non-state actors who killed them.........just like non-state actors who cut heads of our soldiers a year ago

Pakistani, Indian troops exchange sweets at LoC on Republic Day

Pakistani and Indian border troops along the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday exchanged sweets at three places in Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of India's Republic Day, said a report published on Indian Express.

A unit of 12 Infantry Brigade of the Indian Army exchanged sweets with Pakistani troops at Kaman Post in Uri sector on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad Road, the report quoted defence sources as saying.

Troops also exchanged sweets at Teetwal in Tangdhar sector of Kashmir and at Chakan-da-Bagh in Poonch Sector of Jammu region.

Despite ceasefire violations and violence in the disputed Himalayan region, the exchange of sweets between Indian and Pakistan army personnel along the LoC on their respective days of national importance has been a recurring feature.

On August 14 last year, Pakistani Rangers had exchanged sweets with personnel from the Indian Border Security Force to celebrate Pakistan’s 68th Independence Day at the India-Pakistan Wagah border post.
