KARACHI: In a rare move, Rangers have demanded the provision of biometric system for the upcoming by-elections in the NA-246 constituency.

In a letter addressed to the interior ministry and Director General NADRA, the law enforcement agency contended that in order to ensure effective monitoring Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and biometric machines should be installed in the 213 polling stations and 770 polling booths in NA-246 constituency. This, they maintained, will enable smooth polling.

Rangers further contended that if the provision of biometric machines for all polling booths is not possible, then at least 372 booths designated for female voters should be equipped with the machines in order to curb rigging and ensure transparent polls.

Rangers pointed out 55 buildings as sensitive and called for installing sensitive cameras on these.

According to the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP), this is the first time in the history of the country that an LEA has demanded installation of biometric system for the aforementioned elections.

Authorities have already directed deployment of Rangers personnel in and outside the polling stations to curb rigging during the all-important elections.

Earlier, various concerned quarters of the country and political parties demanded deployment of security personnel, including Pakistan Army troops to deal with any untoward incident on polling day.

The political parties seen as strong contestants in the NA-246 by-polls include Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamat-e-Islami (JI).

The seat in the constituency fell vacant after MQM candidate Nabeel Gabool resigned from his position due to difference with the party.

Demand is not that bad but then what the need of deploying rangers inside & outside of polling stations....??

Btw why they don't kick out election commission and run things as they want:o

Rangers cant demand that its not their job. What a mess
In Karachi they can ?
Cause its been delt like FATA now ?
Thats the problemetic point , that now our high military leadership has to think how to move further & in what direction ?
Only thing best I found out about you & including few other PTIans in PDF is they , still are positive thinkers ?
Just imagine messing things like that in the biggest of the city of our country , what message our millitary is delivering to the massive peoples in that city ?

There are many people who know me in NA-246 ... All are enthusiastic to voting MQM :partay:
We are not disscusing you Right ? Uncle ?lolzzz

Karachi is worst than FATA @batmannow

The parties that rule or have rules Sindh has made Karachi a huge mess. MQM and PPP and ANP too cant absolve themselves from blame. Karachi is a city of competing political interests. Since there is no law, its like a jungle. Thats why parties have active militant wings trying to wrestle power from each other.

These status quo parties have marked their areas of influence. Its heart breaking to see flags of these parties and nowhere flag of Pakistan. Those party flags mark the ares these parties control.

This must come to an end. Karachi must get its peace. Its heart breaking to visit the city. Its a heap of garbage and looks like a ghetto. A ghetto controlled by parties that have actually ruined it.

Ohh, my god sure then fazullaha is an angel , & we should let him run his paradise in KPK?
Cause then , that s the solution which was Mr dear imran khan suggested long ago?
& then for Karachi should be divided accordingly with power of the different parties ?
We should ask Pentagon to target criminals in Karachi & use our air force to bomb Karachi ?
Your idea is so funny ?
Karachi is a political arena where power was never given to the real mandate holders , that is the core problem & the reason of every I'll in there but , FATA & Karachi are 2 different things we are talking about here , take your time look the map & rethink what you said ?

Then army should start Zarb-e-Azab in Karachi ...........
& what you think is going on in Karachi , but pakarmed forces will sooner realize that , their strategy won't work here ?
It will bring wrong ideas of their justified war on terror ?
Questions already been asked internationally, that why LEAs has converted themselves as govt in Karachi ?
While rest of Pakistan is still far from.safe ?
What been done with MQM criminals , good ,fine should have done but then , there is no political twisting should be allowed here ?
& if its been allowed then ,it should spread all across Pakistan ?
Model town , to Peshawar APS attacks then the jail breakings in KPK , should be delt with same power .
