We demand that the Jew News be made Official Mouth Piece of PML(N) as PTV is busy in dealing with American Sundi, the Jew News is busy defending SAANDs.
As if the extortionists would be stopped by Federal Government? Seriously? PTA can only do limited action. If extortionists can be wiped out form Karachi in a Year, Same can be done in KPK as well, but that would need political will of Khattak and IG Durrani. You can make a call from an Afghan sim but can throw a grenade through your phone. If police isn't able to curb and crackdown on extortionists then they should be willing enough to call the Army/FC to do the job.Goes unchecked? highly incorrect, KPK police and KPK government has raised this issue with the federal government number of times. The real issue is Afghans sims being used in these cases which cannot be traced and further action cannot be taken. Thus the overall rate of these phone calls is not going down instead it's going up. With the operations in Karachi and further obstructions in other parts, easiest and the best target is KPK due to its location near the border. What the folks need to do is to report these calls and get proper protection to avoid any backlashes.
If i am not wrong federal government is taking measures to counter this problem. PTA has tried to counter Afghan sims problem before but has failed. The seriousness of federal government regarding this issue tells you about it's attitude regarding the whole operation in Pakistan.
Found this useful:
"Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has been ordered by Government to curb the usage of Afghan SIMs in the tribal Areas of Pakistan.
Afghan SIMs are being used in the country for many years now and are utilized for criminal activities like extortion, threats and planning of terrorist attacks. In a hearing at Peshawar High Court (PHC), authorities have said that more than 40,000 illegal SIMs are operating in the country. Their functioning is made possible with the help of roaming service agreements signed between Afghan telecom companies and Pakistan cellular operators."

What needs to be done is to block these sims and raise this issue with the Afghan government. I may be wrong with some of the points made due to the lack of knowledge in this regards. @notorious_eagle , please correct me if i have made an incorrect analysis in my post and also share your thoughts here.
Dear you seem to have forgotten that KPK government doesn't have the jurisdiction to stop the Afghan sims from operating from within our border and even from the Afghan side. For this regard KPK police and KPK government has several times written to federal government. If i am not wrong the federal government has raised this issue with the Afghan government and tried to ban Afghan sims(through PTA). Note: these sims are also used in terrorism activities. The responsibility lies with federal government to tackle these issues, not the provincial government. As if the extortionists would be stopped by Federal Government? Seriously?
Agreed. Federal government needs to do more.PTA can only do limited action.
You seem to have forgotten that an operation was launched in Karachi too. Were they using Afghan sims which cannot be tracked(if i am not wrong)? I think they were local based, operating through local based network. Once you track them, it is always going to be easy to track them down and hunt them. Same can't be said about operations being conducted from other side of the border. If extortionists can be wiped out form Karachi in a Year,
Taking political side is quite retarded and shameful in these situations. If police isn't able to curb and crackdown on extortionists then they should be willing enough to call the Army/FC to do the job.
Nobody has the jurisdiction in Afghanistan. But would that mean, you would just sit and do nothing? Like I said before the threats may come through afghan sims but you can't just throw a grenade from your phone if someone doesn't pay up. That means the attackers are local. They use afghan sims to hide their identity. So what would you do? Unless complete border control is assured which Army isn't able to secure.Dear you seem to have forgotten that KPK government doesn't have the jurisdiction to stop the Afghan sims from operating from within our border and even from the Afghan side. They don't because when one house gets blown away, it sends a psychological signal to the rest to obey or die. What the people need to do is to report these threats and the police to provide them all the protection it can. Being afraid to report is causing more troubles.
Like what? Why do you guys keep using Federal Government as an excuse bin?Agreed. Federal government needs to do more.
Karachi operation was multidimensional. Locals were smart enough to use whatsapp rather than Afghan sims, which can't be tracked, tapped or monitored by agencies. You seem to have forgotten that an operation was launched in Karachi too. Its nothing to do with anything political, its very simple. If you can't do it, hand it over to the guy better equipped to do it. What so political in thatTaking political side is quite retarded and shameful in these situations.
FYI: these networks work through underground sleeper cells, very hard to track. Same case in Punjab, i think the LEA try their best in this case. Underground network will remain even after the Army operations, it takes years to track and curb them out. Taking political sides in these subjects is quite retarded. Not that i expected any less.
New Recruit
you should know better there is no point in engaging these fellows on this topic ----- let me have a go and I hope what i say would make sense to you and them
You have clearly no idea about the dynamics of the situation here --- do you??? you SHOULD never compare the situation in Karachi with that of Lahore, Islamabad & Peshawar, because all these cities have different dynamics in play ------Nobody has the jurisdiction in Afghanistan. But would that mean, you would just sit and do nothing? Like I said before the threats may come through afghan sims but you can't just throw a grenade from your phone if someone doesn't pay up. Oh give me a break please. The point is that if you're not able to address the issues, investors wont come, the economy wont grow and the businessmen will migrate to other parts (which was a case in Karachi as well). So if you guys don't find the courage to accept the ground realities then of course its a good strategy to stay in denial.you should know better there is no point in engaging these fellows on this topic ----- let me have a go and I hope what i say would make sense to you and them
You have clearly no idea about the dynamics of the situation here --- do you??? you SHOULD never compare the situation in Karachi with that of Lahore, Islamabad & Peshawar, because all these cities have different dynamics in play ------
starting with Karachi, as you have said yourself it is a multidimensional front with clear infrastructure in place --- its like a human body, you press down on one vein in the body it leads you to the entire network of veins in the body ---- you have political parties, sectarian groups assisting the terrorist groups & then you have the local thugs ----- also CTD Police, ISI, Rangers had resources at their disposal to pile up the files to conduct raids -------
Coming to Peshawar, it is very simple but very unstructured, every nook & crook you have a different group working on its own agenda and thanks to its close proximity to the tribal areas going in & out of the city is not much of a hustle ---- I can share a photo with you here --- from a Hill Top in Bara you can clearly see the burned up city of Peshawar --- all lighted up ------ KPK Police does have the capacity and are further building on it, unlike other provinces but it is going to take sometime ---- and unlike other provinces (& no offense to anyone) Pathans rather pay the 'Protection Money" then get their work stopped by some goon, hence very low number of Complaints ------ in a case i was involved, a renowed shopowner in Twin cities received a call to pay up or his son will be shot dead, Police was notified & eventually case was taken to FIA ---- do you know what FIA Inspector said?? "Hum kuch nhn kar saktay, Calls are coming from Afghanistan" eventually money was paid ---- all good since then ----- This is Rawalpindi Cantt for you, hub of all you Agencies -----
BTW you yourself shared the news article --- in 1600 Ops 638 tangos nabbed --- pretty good number to me -----
atleast the have the Self Respect and taking on the Terrorists themselves unlike other Police force in the country, who couldn't even put up a fight with "Chotu Gang"
And the operation continues as the other gangs continue to resist. While helicopter gunships continued to target hideouts of the Chottu gang in Kacha Jamal on Tuesday, ground troops did not use heavy weaponry for the safety of the kidnapped policemen.
The military had launched a full-fledged assault using helicopter gunships, surveillance drones and heavy artillery with unconfirmed reports also suggesting movement of tanks in Kacha Jamal, Shahwali and Sonmiani areas.

Give a break too......nobody is running away from the reality, infact the figures above speak volumes about the efforts being put in by the force, 1600 is not a small number my dear this shows the commitment of Poloce towards tackling situation...... CTD in Karachi was doing the same taking the fight to the front door of Tangos unfortunately they were not given free hand to go after political parties.......Oh give me a break please. Even on that chotu gang, The good thing was that at Punjab police realized that Chotu gang was way beyond their capability. And army also seems to not have a walk in the park either
And the operation continues as the other gangs continue to resist.
Last sentence seems like a desperate effort to add weight in the argument.Give a break too......nobody is running away from the reality, infact the figures above speak volumes about the efforts being put in by the force, 1600 is not a small number my dear this shows the commitment of Poloce towards tackling situation...... Not a single officer of KPK police considered for promotion. I expect a post containing credible information rather than opinions from a think-tank.
