Rajasthan Is Changing Names Of All 'Muslim-Sounding' Villages, They Will Have New 'Hindi' Names

.
And who gave them the right to do so?

Indian constitution gives them the right.
  1. The first step involves raising of a request in form of a resolution by any Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) which proposes the renaming of any particular city or street.
  2. On the basis of the request of the MLA, the issue would be deliberated upon and the consequences of the same shall be discussed upon. So, the second step involves the deliberation over the request of the renaming of the city or the street.
  3. The final step involves voting of the validity of the resolution. If there are majority votes in favour of the resolution, the said resolution shall be declared passed. If the majority of votes for a resolution are not achieved, the resolution shall fail. The majority here involves simple majority.

most of the name changes occurred because invaders wanted to hit the natives where it hurts. It is a shame if we do not revert them back. It is not like invaders invented or built these places?

How is reverting to old native names an appeasement tactic? In fact retaining them this long after independence was an appeasement tactic by the then ruling parties.
I agree with you on the later part, it's just elections are less than six months away, this could have been done earlier unless there was some legal hurdle that prevented state government from doing so.

With elections around the corner, the Vasundhara Raje government has approved a long-pending demand: Renaming villages with Muslim-sounding names with names rooted in Hindi.

The renaming of four villages in communally sensitive Chittorgarh — Mohammadpur as Medikh Kheda, Nawabpur as Nai Sarthal, Rampura-Ajampur as Sitaramji Kheda and Mandfiya as Sanwaliyaji —has been approved.

Sources in the revenue department said more names will be changed in the coming weeks. The renaming of villages four months before the state polls in November-December is seen as a move by BJP to appease its vote bank.

Three other villages have already been renamed — Miyon-Ka-Bara is now Mahesh Nagar (Barmer), Narpada is Narpura (Jalore) and Islampur Khurd is Pichanwa Khurd (Jhunjhunu).

Sources said a proposal to rename Salemabad, in Ajmer, as Shri Nimbark Tirth is in the final stages. The move has invited sharp reactions from political parties and civil rights groups which have unanimously called it a bid to polarise society.

Terming the exercise an attempt to hide the failures of the government, former CM Ashok Gehlot said the move just before polls was unnecessary.

Yasmeen Farooqui, member of the All India Muslim Law Board, said, “Muslims have never felt as insecure in Rajasthan as under the Raje regime. Mob lynchings, hate crimes, dropping Muslim writers from textbooks, systematic closure of Urdu schools, now renaming of villages… What next?” The reactions have surprised revenue minister Amra Ram Choudhary, who said that none of the villages renamed is Muslim-dominated and no villager contested the proposal during the process.

now the trend is civilization and now you are hindu upper class .... Lol

Are you denying they originated in Pakistan? Even the Vedas were written in Pakistan before a small group ventured into India.

Definitely Brahmins has nothing to do with 99.5% Pakistanis.

We were the sperm donors. Of course after thousands of years of mixing with local women Brahmins would be very similar to other Indians.

Man that is some messed up knowledge you have about the Hindu or its sister communities. I'd say you start reading a bit and then we'll discuss this point further.

No, you're the one who should read - read about R1a Y-dna haplogroup and how it spread from Pakistan into India! How do you think the caste system originated?!

I thought Islam cut across the racial and langauge barrier, if that not the case I wonder why some people here get high on Ummah dream.

How is it different from Christian Ummah or Hindu Ummah? At one time Christians thought all Christians are one people. Today Hindus in India, from 3 completely different language groups (Indo-Aryan, Dravidian and Sino-Tibetan) think they are same people (Hindutva ummah). This madness exists everywhere.

I doubt that universal brotherhood madness is present among Chrisitians and especially Hindus. I don't see common people going beserk over religious issues in far off places.

You don't really read do you? I said "at one time" about Christians - they did go to far off places to fight religious wars.

Hindus are already doing their version of ummah madness. A Bihari Hindu will gladly unite with a Tamil Hindu to lynch his next door Bihari Muslim neighbor. He thinks he and Tamil Hindu are same people while the Bihari Muslim is an outcast.

When I said far off places I didn't mean within India.

Veda’s are written near Kurukshetra on the banks of river Saraswathi.

Once Saraswathi dried up,the same people moved to Indus and Ganges.

It is a well come gesture. If it named after any sufi saint, it should not be changed. If it is named after invedor, it must be changed.

Don't mix mythology and history. I have nothing against your religion, but history and anthropological studies should be free of religion and politics.
