I do not know whether to laugh or cry at this statement. I am at a loss of words. The country is in its current dilemma because the crazies go unchecked. Maybe they shouldn't be getting a permit to holding such big ijtima's if they cannot prove the identity of the members; specially in the light of recent developments. The army should invade Punjab too and flush out the terrorists in the cities; Raiwind and Iqbal town in Lahore are full of crazies.

All this tableeghi bullsh!t needs to stop....it is nothing but a breeding ground for all kind of crazies. All the mosques and madresahs should also be regulated to curb extremism and militant ideology.

Somehow the terrorists always manage to find refuge and support in these typical settings.

WTF is that suppose to mean?

It means that you should not derail the thread. Something seriously wrong here if you can not differentiate between JI and Tableeghi Jamat.

LAHORE: Two personnel of the Elite Force were killed and four others injured during an operation against terrorists holed up in a house in Raiwind on Thursday.

According to security forces, the terrorists were planning an attack on the Prime Minister House which is a few kilometers away from the terrorists’ house.

During the ten hour operation that began at 2:00 am, a terrorist was killed while another was arrested in injured condition. Additional IG Sarmad Saeed said huge cache of ammunition, weapons and explosives was recovered from the terrorist’s hideout.

The owner of the house has also been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated.

Acting on a tip off about the presence of militants, police surrounded a residential compound located on Raiwind Road. According to reports, heavy arms were used in the shootout while a blast was also heard amid the intermittent firing.

Despite announcements by the police for four hours, militants refused to surrender or negotiate. It was suspected that the militants had fixed an improvised explosive device inside the house that restricted the movement of security forces.

Provincial Minister Shuja Khanzada said initial information received indicated that there were women and children hostages which led to caution on part of the security forces. Following the conclusion of the operation it was discovered that there were no hostages.

Khanzada added that the house was rented over a month ago while initial investigation revealed that the terrorists were locals.

“Pakistan’s main priority is to eliminate terrorism,” Khanzada added.

RIP brave police jawans. You have earned my respect and gratitude.

OK, folks - Those who want to discuss Tableeghi jamaat etc... should open another thread AND invite me to it. I will set them straight.

NO MORE OT

PS> In case someone has noticed, @Zarvan just told us where he lives.

Yes indeed they are different in approaches but nevertheless they are followers of the same ideology. My point was simple, this is the third time AQ operatives have been either arrested or today encountered the police. Who has been consistently harboring them? JI is infamous for repeatedly having soft corner for these people who give us a bad name. Tablighi jamat may not approve this but there may be some elements in the organization who would have been supporting these thugs.
